Gargoyles are so awesome! There are people who think that they're uglier than other geckos, but I disagree; they are so adorable!

I love gargs! I think they look like little chubby tree crocodiles, haha.

I never get over how amazing this picture is

I was wondering, what size cage would you advise for one adult gargoyle?
I have one of these guys now and I absolutely love her. She's still young though and in a kritter keeper. Just planning for the future.

Oh! And how are those ball eggs coming?

the-shiznite In reply to Shelby-Chan [2010-08-10 04:41:36 +0000 UTC]

Thank you

I personally would say an 18x12x20 would be perfectly fine for an adult Gargoyle. I used R-Zilla Acrylic Atriums for most of my Rhacs. A similar size Exo terra or a 20 gallon tall would be suitable as well.

As for the ball eggs, sad news. She laid them today but 8 were slugs (small and infertile) and 1 is questionable. I doubt it is fertile but I put it in the incubator anyway. Sometimes those things happen, better luck next year I suppose!

Thanks so much!

That's too bad, I know you must have been really looking forward to that. Was it her first clutch?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-shiznite In reply to Shelby-Chan [2010-08-10 06:10:43 +0000 UTC]

No problem and yes, it was her first clutch. She was a smaller girl. I'm just glad she's healthy and happy and already eating again. Plus the fact that she is capable of giving 9 on her first go is a good sign I'm going to let her take the year off and get her nice and big for next fall.

That's good she's doing so well, I'm sure she'll do better her next time around

the-shiznite In reply to Shelby-Chan [2010-08-10 19:06:51 +0000 UTC]

She will I'm sure. Plus this was a bad year for a lot of people, lots of late and bad clutches.

What a wonderous piece, I love geckos [as I told you the story of the leopard gecko] and since I love gargoyles too, this is very pleasing in both title and content.

Thanks It isn't too expensive, and it is the best camera you can get before getting into the SLR's... Sony Cybershot H20 We got ours for $229 at Best Buy.

Amazing I know this sounds silly but could you recommend a camera for someone like me? I want something of good quality because I like taking pictures of wildlife etc

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-shiznite In reply to Oceanic-Whitetip [2010-02-26 19:32:49 +0000 UTC]

I would recommend the camera we just got honestly! It isn't too expensive and it is the best camera you can get (right now atleast) without being an SLR IMO. I've even taken pics of my fish and they look very good considering they are through glass and water. If you can afford an SLR though, I'd say a Nikon D40-D90 you'd need a good macro lens too though.

Oceanic-Whitetip In reply to the-shiznite [2010-02-26 19:34:20 +0000 UTC]

All that is mumbo jumbo to me! But I think I understand I'd like to take pictures of my fish in the tank but.....digicam doesn't cut it anymore! ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-shiznite In reply to Oceanic-Whitetip [2010-02-26 19:37:45 +0000 UTC]

haha SLRs are more expensive and you can switch lens's etc they are "professional" cameras. My camera is considered a "bridge" camera, basically a digital camera that is like an SLR.

No problem and awww thanks!! I usually have to drop them in PS to brighten them but that's no biggie Once I get a REAL lightbox I'm sure I won't have to anymore.

No problem If you want to do a lot of macro or zoomed in nature type photos, this is the camera. It has a really nice zoom on it. Oh and it also is an hd video camera!
