As Alex begins to realize the significance of this place to his past, He sees Kamala staring at something on the wall, and sees the wall picture, still at the wall’s base from where it had been knocked down, so many years ago. The frame is covered in dust, and as Alex wipes his hand across the picture, he sees an image of a male red fox, a purple vixen, and a familiar blue baby fox, staring at him.

Looking closer, Alex’s eyes widen when he looks at the baby.

Alex: *pointing at the baby, shocked* Is this me?

Kamala’s only response is to nod sadly.

Alex: *pointing at the two adults in the picture* Then this is my father, and my…

A tear drops from Alex’s eye as he realizes, despite her love, Kamala was not his real mother.

Kamala: …Now you know.

Kamala had known this day would come. Ever since the day she took him in, Kamala knew that at some point, Alex would inevitably learn the truth. But despite their differences, she still loved him as if he was one of her own. Like any mother, she had wanted to protect her son at any cost, even if it meant that she needed to hide the truth from him.

If Alex had learned this when he was still a child, he would have seen his world and family differently. But now, with everything that had happened in these recent days, the truth seemed like the only thing that would help Alex decide on where he belonged.

Kamala: *sighing* Alex, I just want you to be happy, whatever you decide.

Turning around, Kamala walks out of the room and waits outside, leaving Alex alone in the treehouse, so that he could make his decision, on what to do with his life.
