Pourquoi je pense aux turbans de l'ayatollah Ali Khamenei? Peut-etre a cause des discours volontariste de gauche.

can a circle precent unnecessary repetition happening of unwanted things, maybe by whispering a simple "non"? that would be a miraculous circle which i should love to have myself.

that we're talking intensely
to say no
stop and let the current guide you
you stay calm and take a deep breath (from your stomach)

time is suspended
no, not yet
oh, not yet?? "

well it looks even weirder in english

Hey, did you notice ?
the big comeback of my compass cutter

in fact i was ashamed of how little i used that!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RichardLeach In reply to TheCollagist [2010-06-18 21:12:24 +0000 UTC]

i certainly did notice! i was wondering when we would see that again.

and i liked how you used it twice to take an extra bite out of the inside of the circle on the right!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheCollagist In reply to RichardLeach [2010-06-18 21:32:02 +0000 UTC]

well the small one (the extra bite as you say ) was the first (the little eye floating up there) then i went larger and larger until the last one.

it always amazes me how cutting changes totally the expression. it was a beautiful mysterious portrait. very haunting.. it totally lost this particularity with the repositioning.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RichardLeach In reply to TheCollagist [2010-06-18 21:40:26 +0000 UTC]

i see a little bit of that hauntingness re-assembling the pieces mentally, but you're right, it's gone.

that's the thing about collage, isn't it - pieces of things becoming new things. i'm not a theorist of the form - Edvard has thought a lot about it - but that's part of the pull of it, i think. the unexpectedness of what is made, too.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheCollagist In reply to RichardLeach [2010-06-18 21:48:40 +0000 UTC]

don't forget also that i talk too much on this one, this has the ability of destroying the "aura" too.

i made this 4 or 5 nights ago, in such a mood

yes, Edvard is one of the most interesting collage artists i ever saw, and a brilliant mind.

totally agreeing on the "pull of it" i just can't forget that flight and those 19 fist collages! i just could not get enough of that thrill!

oh, that first notebook of yours giving oneself the permission to tear and cut and glue, it's really something! part of the brain says, "we don't tear things" and the other part says, "yes we do!" RIP!

dinner time here now, dear one, see you later, tonight or tomorrow

lol at the "we don't tear things"
(reminds me a little of that ironing-a-dress-before-we-wear-it-and-take-photos-too)
