Description
"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious."I love Carl Jung's work. It has deeply influenced my growth as a person, directly and indirectly. In Jungian psychology, the concept of 'shadow' refers to the unconscious part of us, the part we're unaware of but which pretty much controls our life. Most of us do all we can to keep ourselves away from the shadow, escape into our phones, substances, work, TV shows, you name it. But unless we get to know our shadow selves, we won't know why we do the things we do and how to change. Most religions tell us to look at a being made of light somewhere outside of ourselves for answers. All the answers are within us.
Thanks to faestock for the lovely reference.
There's a reflection on the shadow. Couldn't find a way to avoid it in the photo.
