I am still trying to find a tutorial on how to create animations for the Unity3D engine. What are the engine requirements? Do we have to export the animations in any special way? Even at the Unity3D forums, the tutorials are always on how to create the animation, where I want to know how to get it exported and used in the engine... -___-

Any hints?

Sure thing! I am learning to use Multimedia Fusion Developer 2. I am not sure it will work well, but I am rendering out the animations in Poser by frames. MFD2 can use the frames set for discreet animations...I have found a similar phenom with MFD2: a lot of tutes on how to animate in the app, which like you I don't need.

Multimedia Fusion? That sounds familiar... Isn't it from the same guys who created Jamagic many years ago?

Perhaps, not sure on that but they are "Clickteam" [link]

I have seen some interesting stuff done with Poser frame animations in it!

Oh yes, ClickTeam! I bought their "Jamagic" toolkit many years ago, which allowed the creation of 3D games with very little programming. The language was very similar to Java, and I thought it would be the next big thing, except that they flopped the entire project and my money went for nothing. >___<

I want to make character animations for the Unity3D engine, but can't seem to find the right tutorials...

Hhhmmm, well I don't know "Jamagic" but it sounds cool...too bad it flopped...so many things do *sigh*

Well...does Unity allow the creation of the animation within itself or are the tutes just on general animation? I have never been successful on figureing out how to import animations into a game engine...but I know it can be done...I presume you want to use Poser as your animation platform...or MAX?

I think it makes more sense to animate the models in Poser, since the tool is dedicated to characters.

I would concur.

On the other hand, Max has more control over sliding feet. I am still learning that. ^^

Yes, MAX's IK seems pretty solid but I have not used it much...which version of MAX?

Recently I went from 2010 to 2012. HUGE improvements in this version, but it was *unusable* before applying the 2 service packs, and the renderer is still rather crashy.

Yes...glad there was an improvement. Not surprising on the crashy, sadly...

Oh but I am surprised. Versions 9 and 2010 were very stable. This is the first time I have Max crashing on me this often, and it's mostly when rendering.

Ouch! I would have figured others versions to have the issue...come to think of it, my old Max6 renderer is very solid...actually, overall it is a stable platform.

Until now - the new version of Mental Ray crashes a LOT. And I also had plenty of crashes even from the scanline default renderer. So perhaps it's not MAX, but the renderers that keep crashing on me.

Whether MAX or the render app provided with, it should be stable!

I guess so, but I couldn't resist all the new toys on the new version.

I was just thinking...since she is wearing a Starfleet uniform, I wonder how those boobs look when they're bouncing in a true zero G environment?
