Description
Prieview of my Dungeon and dragons adventures. This is from, what? 8th, 7th campaign? Its in the middle of a long storyline where the Lord of lies have tricket the group to adventure into this cave and write a curtain message on the wall. This was our 'epic' plan. The DM planned for this to be an small encounter but since we're the smartest group in excistance we decided instead to create this overly-complycated plan to defeat what turned out to be four mad kobolts .... the DM was just hiding his face in his hands
My character is the Psion,Β an arrogant elf that is in a huge denial that his poems are the worst things ever to be put on paper. Then we have the two bros Calvin and Hobbes, and Helith the psycho maniac. Two people were not include in the story; the mage and the orc Barbarian since the guys couldn't make it to the session. We just pretended that they followed behind, awfully silent and did not take part in the battle. I just choose to not draw them in since they technically didn't tribute anything.

You basically have to roll a dice that goes from 1-20 to see how accurate the casting is going to be, usually under five means that he would have missed completely. If you roll high enough to do damage Β then you have to roll another dice to see how much damage you do. If you roll 20 you don't have to roll the second dice since the character does the highest damage possible. And just my luck, he rolled 20 :I

That sounds like a lot of fun! Thanks so much for explaining that to me! People talk about it and I'm just like "Huh?" but you explained it really well so thanks! Oh and yeah of courseΒ he had to roll a 20. At least you lived right?

Thanks :3 the rules aren't that complicated when you get down to it, but there's just so many of them that they might seem overwhelming at times. Thankfully I lived, but he took half my health and being a magic user I don't have that much of it :I

There are 6 main attributes that determine the character's abilites; strength, consitution, intelligent, wisdom, Charisma and Dexterity. When you create a character you place your points at these attributes. I placed my lowest point at consitution (which is basically health) and strength since it was least of my worries, since I work my magic at a safe distance and my magic required high intelligent and wisdom. The Gnoll (the gigantic hyena) is a ranger so his strength lies in melee and therefor he'll always be in line of fire with most of the enemies focusing on him (who wouldn't be concerned about 7 feet 6 inch tall, mad hyena coming their way). So he put most of his his points in strength and constition which means that while my health is about 20, his is about 40-50.Β
It also matters what kind of a magic user you are. I'm a Psion (pretty much a Jedi) and my magic relies mostly on intelligent and wisdom. The warlock on the other hand relies mostly on consitution and Charisma meaning that not only is her health about the same as the hyena but she's also the person in the group that NPC's tend to trust the most (which is funny considering that she's a half demon). Then there are wizards that rely mostly on intelligent and constitution and of course Sorcereres but I'm not sure what their main attributes are.
So like I said, there are a lot of rules around the game, and it seems overwhelming at times but they're relatifely easy to learn. If you're interested in playing I recommend a group where at least one person knows what they're doing (I started with a group that had played for years and I picked it up quickly)

I recommend finding a group, it's really fun : ) I also recommend watch the 'countermonkey' videos with Spoony. They're both insightful and funny
