Description
Ok, so here we go:started it with watercolor and prismacolor pencil on Rives bfk paper (toned)
then mounted it on to masonite and covered it with a matte gel medium and did oil rubs on top of the dried gel medium.

Nice, glad that you finished it at last.
I'm pretty curious about the size?

Very nice work. Honestly though, I could do without the thin white lines, but that is the only critique I have (and one that should be taken w/ a grain of salt).
Keep up the good work!

Your work always inspires me. Thanks for sharing your processes, too - it's too easy for me to get stuck in a rut and seeing all the ways you approach your work pushes me out.

Like James Jean you bring great fine arts sensibilities to your illustrations. For that matter you'd make a good Fables cover artist.

He's right. I always enjoyed buying comics that had the fine art covers and standard comic art on the inside....Alex Ross for example. I think your work fits that niche quite well. I hope you make it happen!

uh oh, PRESSURE! ;D
You're not trying, Erik; you're doing it. Just go with the flow - no "try" necessary.

The masonite is nice. Puts it on a different level by giving it that three-dimensionality.
