One of Ariel's sisters from Disney's Little Mermaid. I always thought they were portrayed as really ditzy dumb girls.
Just because they weren't the main heroine of the story doesn't mean they have to be so unattractive, right? I mean, they are still mermaid princesses, dang it. they deserve to be just as gorgeous and charismatic as Ariel. Yes.
Art wise...I really really am NOT good at backgrounds or foregrounds or really anything that isn't a mermaid in this picture. Lol. And I have no idea if there are actual fish that look like that, or seaweed (wait, coral?) that looks like that. But hey! Artistic license, me hearties...
This is my first time doing a digital piece so detailed so helpful criticism is always appreciated. But so is unfailing adoration of my artistic and creative skillz are as well.
Just kidding! (Kinda.)

Haha! It was a lot of fish...I wondered if I was going a little crazy while I was drawing them. But I had fun the whole way through so I guess it's not TOO many.

I really like how you did the background. That left corner is fun with the light coming through the water.
And as far as sea-life goes, GO CRAZY. The world is so varied and exotic that no one can ever prove that what you draw does not exist. : )
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU, TOO. How come Ariel's sister always come off as such obviously dull background characters? Scandalous!

I feel a little better after forcing some food down my gullet. Slowly but surely, I want to get better before classes start! I've been eating some fruit and bread and chicken to get me back up to snuff. I felt well enough to walk around today without falling down. Just taking it easy!
