Haven't posted in a while. Sorry. Still no continuation to 'The Homecoming' or 'GiG.'Things have been getting pretty hectic recently so I was only able to do this single illustration. Work, holiday prep, my dog biting me on my hand (reflexively; he was surprised by my actions as I tried to rescue him), and the subsequent anti-rabies shots have kept me busy.
It's still a long hiatus before anything really substantial so I hope this proves interesting. I also hope to post some time before the 25th, the last post before the end of the year. Enjoy!

Huh, interesting little piece. Feels like it's taking The Mask's possesion to another level, or maybe it's painfully rejecting Evelyn. The tendril bits between her dress and The Mask sort of remind me of the "curse" from Princess Mononoke . Gotta ask where the design of this one came from? It's such a departure from most art work of The Mask I've seen.
Edit: I zoomed in and noticed the classic dotted texture you added. Love the classic comic style!

I suppose this is more of me injecting a bit more 'body horror' into this genreβmaking the Mask appear like a biological/living entity with its own volition. Very removed from how I've portrayed the Mask previously; being somewhat inert unless it gets close to a face. Though the tendrils are somewhat similar to how I've portrayed the "insides" of the Mask to be like.
My own headcannon is that someone or something is trying to wedge the two apartβeven Evelyn isn't happy with the abrupt separation.

I definitely can see your headcannon now that you mention it. Neither of them seem to be enjoying it all, and the ripping of the inside goop (I guess that's apt?) is so violent. Kinda seems like The Mask becomes like a suit when it alters you enough like in Evelyn's case

I like the idea that Evelyn is going to go through the same thing Stanley did where, no matter how much she hates Eve, other people's Mask personalities are worse and the Mask is still somewhat safer with her. The chaos will be fun though.

2-3 hours. Not a fairly difficult task these days thanks to the work I put into the comics. But it's all I could do in the last few weeks. Hope to update the main comic and GiG some time.
