Description if you're new to alchemy and are feeling lost when confronted with all the symbols, or just want to make symbols and don't know what to do,Β this may help. it's a guide to material symbols that i usually use in arrays. i haven't covered all of the elements here, and not even close to all of the compounds (there are, like, 10 million) but i covered the main ones. come up with the ones that aren't listed here yourself! to those of you who can, enjoy! and as always, if you like what you see, be sure to check out the rest of my page!

Hello, I am kind of in the process of writing a story/grimiore on alchemy and other mystic arts, was wondering if I may use your symbols as a basis for my rendition of the elements. The symbols being inside a circle really appeals to me and I just didn't feel right taking artwork from a living person.

Where did you learn your alchemy? My school library doesn't help.

No, unfortunately, they usually don't. And I learned my alchemy by studying the circles of fellow alchemists, as well as looking things up online. Not only that, but because this alchemy is almost entirely dependent upon the user's comprehension of the symbols involved, I'll often make my own. You can totally do the same; as long as you understand what you're signifying, the array is valid. This does not, however, mean that something like a large, random scribble within a circle is a valid array; that's very likely to go haywire and kill the user horribly, so don't do that. Good luck! Also, I'm slowly but surely writing a (kind of) book on my type of transmutation circle design, and you can feel free to read it once I'm done ^^
