Description There it was, the lost city of Atlantis.

Those holograms that I had found said that Atlantis was a city swallowed by the sea eons ago, lost to space and time. Yet here before me stretched its magnificent ruins, scraping the sky and calling out to the heavens.

This is what we had been looking for.

READ THE DISCRIPTION!!!!!

Well basically this started with this :[link]

the original terragen render that I created from a tutorial with terrabrush. Then I decided that it would look really cool if it had all this overgrowth on it, like it had been abandoned or somthing. However, that was alot harder to do then I had first thought because of the weird lighting and shadows, so I ended up making it covered in kind of moss and then having the foliage only in the center. Then since I wasnt happy with it, espescially the plants, I decided to make it a space scene. I made a new planet (which I just lost because of a power outage, damit), added some cool clouds, and developed a new star/nebula method.

time: damn long. this was by far my longest peice, mainly because I had no idea how to manip the plants and I was just kind of stumbling along. around 40-50 hours i think.

Anyway critiques and favs appreciated as always

Lovely, and a very unusual Terragen scene too. It has avery warm paradise look with the orange haze. The 3D part though looks as if it is based at sunset, while the clouds and planets look like they are being lit from a midday sun. But I know this is an oldie, so I bet you have realised that by now.

This is absolutely amazing.

Even more amazing is hour much work you put into each of your works.

I think the longest time I've ever put into a piece was about 4-5 hours collectively.

Keep up the good work! You've got a big fan here!

Some depth of field would be nice, and the reflection on the water is a bit too saturated and strong, and the top-left cloud looks funky (is shouldn't fade out at the top like that), and the planets are pretty dull, particularly the large one, but I dig it, overall. I'll fave it.

Amazing. The transition from earth to space is amazing and I love the details in the water. Are the buildings made of blocks of wood, though?

Did you place the ocean life there, or was that terragen? The bottom left would make for a great sig.

I like it a lot. The two planets look out of place, what is it with you and putting two similar looking planets the smaller one right on top of the other. The second planet, the way it is positioned over the first, kills the 3d illusion. It just doesn't seem convincing. It makes the whole planet portion look 2d-ish to me... I guess...
The whole thing is a bit too sharp as well, and while that works for some portions, it doesn't work for others. With the stars, it doesn't work in my opinion. The buildings look a bit... fake? They look like rectangles made in a 3d program with a sloppy texture thrown on. Final quip: The reflection in the water doesn't really match what is there...
I really love the concept, and all in all it looks great. Could use some work though.

Awesome. I love the texture on the planets. The water is sex. Maybe add a boat of some sort, to depict the scale of Atlantis. The nebulae look great, however even though it's not blurry my eyes go out of focus every time I look at it . Great work.

thanks for the triple post sexy

yea your eyes go out of focus because orignally i had a erased some of the stars which had been reduced in size, so i had to put another layer of stars in there that hadnt been edited, but that layer was a larger size, so when i shrunk it down, i couldnt get them in the exact same spots, so there are two of each star, and it kinda looks like a motion blur

o.O
