Description "Compromising Awkwardness"
November 17th, 2010
Pencil and ball-point pen

One of the scenes from Ivanhoe (Sir Walter Scott, do I still have to say that though? We all know it's by Walter Scott, right? At least by now?) that I just thought was rather hilarious when I read it.

Left to right: Isaac of York, Grandmaster Lucas Beaumanoir and Conrade Mont-Fitchet

Oh....that's awkward.

Some brief background. Basically...the Templar grandmaster (Beaumanoir ) came to England ( ) all super p-oed about the state of affairs of his Templars because they were all frolicking around in worldly worldliness. So he's all up in arms ready to reform the Order and put everyone under more rigorous rules. In the meantime, Bois-Guilbert kidnapped Rebecca, and so her father Isaac of York came to the preceptory with a letter from one of Bois-Guilbert's friends. Aaaaaaaand the grandmaster just so happens to be at this certain preceptory. So this letter appears from a Cistercian Prior to Templar Brother Bois-Guilbert revealing that both, eh, lack dedication to their vows. Which does not please the Grandmaster.

Poor Conrade. Heheheheh.....that'd be awkward just having to read that out loud. Good thing Bois-Guilbert wasn't there to take the hit.

Heehee, I also enjoy drawing them with the fun little medieval muffin hats.

And is it just me, or does Lucas Beaumanoir REALLY look like that one magician dude from Disney's Fantasia?

Enjoy!

P.S. I spelled Front-de-Boeuf's name wrong. *facepalm*

Dear Lord Sir Walter Scott's characters are long winded, aren't they?

Love the expressions here. So awesome. I giggled

I'm in love with your script/font! I love the "y"s and "s"s particularly. Also, loving the muffin hat.

AWWWW! I'm honestly suprised by how much everyone seems to like the script. I thought it was rather, eh, lazy to be quite honest.

Gotta love muffin hats.

It's 'cause we can't write like that. At least, not without spending an inordinate amount of time on it. <3

Not that I don't spend a ridiculously inordinate amount of time on it anyways....

I love the progression of expressions on their faces, especially on the Grandmaster's. Genius as always.

Hahahahahah, why thank you! Ah yes, the progression of faces was definitely one of my favorite parts in making this.

Heeheehee.... Not really sure what else to call them though.

Yes they are, and oh how greatly it angers the Grandmaster....

It's okay- I've heard ones like Adelaide's [link] called a coffee filter hat. So really, which would you rather wear...

He really does. Or a Freemason maybe.

Also, he looks like he is about to explode.

Also, THAT FONT YOU DO. It is amazing.

In conclusion, YOU AND YOUR TEMPLARS.

LOL. I don't know, do Freemasons look like people who would have Mickey Mouse as an apprentice?

Yes he does. The Grandmaster is angry. Bad Templars. BAD.

Awwwwwww!!!! Why thank you! ^^ It's fun to write in gothic fonts.

Hahahah, oh yes. This comment has actually inspired a Templar-related picture, but I don't know if I'll get it finished anytime soon. I am, alas, a lazy Templar-lover.

Well, why not? XD

You seem to get a fair number of them draw anyhow.

I really want to see a Freemason with Mickey Mouse as an apprentice now....

Heheheh, yeah, though not as many as I'd like. I'm busting with random little ideas. So much to do, so much laziness to deal with....

You could doodle it. Except Mickey would have to be a Templar, too, or you'd confuse people.
