Today we observe World migratory bird day

This day is celebrated for raising awareness about migratory birds and their natural habitat. We can help them by understanding their behaviour and keeping their habitat preserved. This is an global awareness campaign for the protection of migratory bird and their homes.

Here is our today’s migratory bird “Rufous Hummingbird”
This hummingbird is a tiny paper sculpture made completely out of paper and it’s painted on both the sides, this makes it a 2.5D sculpture. The biggest challenge was to cut and paint both the sides similar in this small scale. It took a lot effort and planning but finally it came out good. Hope you all will like this new style.

I love hummingbirds and making them is pure joy. And this tiny fella is not just a normal hummingbird, they are known for their amazing migration.

The rufous hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) is a small hummingbird, about 8 cm (3.1 in) long with a long, straight and slender bill. These birds are known for their extraordinary flight skills, flying 2,000 mi (3,200 km) during their migratory transits, this a prodigious journey for a bird weighing only 3 to 4 g.
