Description

My first drawings of Deltarune’s fluffy prince Ralsei. As the title says, this is an AU Ralsei that’s based on the official one. His backstory is going to be different from Deltarune, but will adapt aspects from the Canon Ralsei. Below is the overall story of the AU and where Ralsei fits into all of this, and some other notes that I can’t fit in the above artwork.

Story:
In this AU, it is 4 years after the events of Undertale’s pacifist ending, and Monsterkind has since established themselves on the surface in a new kingdom called Hometown. King Asgore has stepped down as the kingdom’s ruler and passed the mantle of leadership to Queen Carol Holiday.
Somewhere along the way, a timeline glitch caused elements from the Deltarune universe to cross over to this timeline. As a consequence of the glitch, Dark fountains suddenly appeared in this world’s timeline, and Titans started to emerge from them to wreck havoc across the land. This event would be known as the Roaring Crisis. In response, the Kingdom of Hometown established the Royal Sky Knights, the successor to the Royal Guard, and are tasked with defending the kingdom from the Titan threat.
(TDRL: This AU is essentially Undertale/Deltarune meets Attack on Titan, lol)

Ralsei’s Involvement:
A young dark-world being would emerge from a Dark Fountain to escape a Titan chasing him. Luckily for him, Knight-General Asgore, now brought out of retirement, was in the area, and rescued the mysterious being. Calling himself the “Dark Prince”, he would reveal to General Asgore that his kind is a race of beings called Darkners and that the Titans are transformed versions of these Darkners. He was trying to find a way to bring the Titans back to normal using his pacify abilities, but he was chased out of his own kingdom by the Titans.
The Dark Prince would be taken in by Asgore as is apprentice, and with the help of a young Knight-Cadet, the being would be known as Ralsei, and would reform his new appearance based on Asgore’s son who he believes he lost long ago…
Ralsei would then join the Royal Sky Knights as a new Knight-Cadet and becomes a new student in Dr. Alphy’s class. He would assist the Knights in finding a way to bring the Titans back to normal and shares the pacify spell to the Knights.

Notes:
- Unlike the Deltarune Ralsei, this Ralsei is much younger, pretty much around whatever ages that Frisk, Chara, and Asriel are in Undertale.
-The design is based on myself asking “What kind of wardrobe that Ralsei would wear in the DR Light World?” The basis of his wardrobe is a sweatshirt that shares the same color scheme as Ralsei’s robes in DR Ch 2. He keeps his hat and scarf though.
-Why is Ralsei wearing sneakers? Let’s just say I got inspired: www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9q6tT…
-His “Darkner form” is basically the “Ch 1 Ralsei” design, but with the cloak added above his robe. Honestly not too happy with how this one turned out but then again, I love Ch 2 Ralsei’s design over the Ch 1 version.
- Ever since Deltarune’s Ch 2 talked about the Titans, I joked that the DR characters are gonna have to fly around in ODM gear if they were to ever fight them. Then I started designing ODM like equipment and drew these thrusters called “Jump Gears” on the Undertale characters I drew (Frisk & Asriel so far) and followed suit with Ralsei.
-In battle, Ralsei also wears his cloak. Not only it is a shoutout to the Attack on Titan anime, but it fits well with Ralsei’s wizard vibe.
-Since Ralsei is able to go into what I guess you can call the “Light World” darkners are likely gonna work differently than in their Deltarune counterparts in this AU. Haven’t nailed down all aspects of it yet but I will like to get the “light world items associated with a darkner” concept in there somehow, including linking Ralsei to a horned headband….
-Unlike in DR Ch 2, I don’t expect my AU Ralsei to be sus... (And I genuinely hope that in future DR chapters that Ralsei isn’t evil…)
