Character design commission for the man, the myth, the legend, VermX

He asked me to make a killer Santa, specifically santa himself, rather than the ever lovable Krampus. I think his initial idea was a half slasher, half mutant sort of design, but I ended up making him a full mutant... whoops. A bit of a happy accident, I guess, since Verm seemed to pretty into the final sketch.
At first, I honestly had no idea what to do. Making a creepy thing cute or likable design is often a lot easier than the reverse, and I didn't want to just take Santa and give him sunken eyes and teeth. No, no, we go overboard with creature design in this house. The stomach mouth thing came to me first, as I thought the place where his coat usually separates would be a nice place to put some twisted maw, and from there I figured I'd make him entirely organic; Deep red exposed muscle or flesh, a beard made of fleshy tubes... Verm told me a candy cane sword might be neat, and that gave me the idea for the claws. This was a fun challenge, I must say!

Oh, by the way, Thanksgiving is Lame. November is now a sequel to Halloween, but a prequel to Christmas, and thus must combine the best elements of both. Spooky month 2: Electric Boogaloo.
