Chinese New Year is coming!!! Chinese guardian beasts, sometimes described as a mix of lion and dog, are a common sight at temples and large establishments, and are often found flanking gateways and entrances. They are always crafted in pairs, male and female. The male is depicted holding a sphere or orb under one of his front paws, and the female is usually crafted holding down a boisterous cub. While thinking up this drawing, my first thought was to draw a female, so that little guy down there is her son
