The sun blazed overhead and a cool wind blew, ruffling your hair. It was the perfect day to relax; to sit and just enjoy the warmth of the day. Laughs and cheers rang out, filling the air with excited voices.

"Get him Y/N!"

"Kick his ass!"

It was a normal day for the soldiers.

You aimed a punch for the giants face. Well Reiner wasn't really a giant, but he was built like an ox. The man grunted when your fist connected with is face. He dug his feet into the ground to stop from skidding backwards. He raised his arms for another punch. You slid low, kicking upwards to connect with is unprotected jaw. An audible snap was heard, and some of the watchers winced. The shock on his face when he hit the dirt made you grin. You were on him again, pinning his arms down. With a laugh you sat on his chest.

"Give up, Braun?"

He chuckled, turning his head to spit blood at the ground. "I got it Squead Leader. You can get off of me now...not that I mind it."

You punched him again.

Laughs filled the air. Jumping back up you crossed your arms. "And that's how you show someone how to be polite, cadets. I don't think Braun here will be talking shit again...well at least for awhile."

"I wasn't talking shit!" Reiner slowly stood, wiping some dirt and blood from his cheek.

"Those pick up lines were indeed shit, Braun. You're lucky I'm such a nice person." You winked at him before heading back towards HQ.

"She calls that nice?" Kirschtein muttered as you passed.

"Hey I think Reiner had it coming. He wasn't watching himself." Jeager hissed, glancing in your direction fearfully. "And you you've heard the stories. She's crazy strong. Even if she's losing she won't give up."

And that's the way you liked it. You hated how cocky the new cadets were. At times you wondered if they would make it more than a year in the corps. Especially Eren. With all of Hanji's experiments the poor kid barely had a chance.

You wiped your bloody hand on your pants. There was a grunt of disgust behind you.

"Can't you be a bit cleaner?"

You stuck your tongue out. "Oh Levi that wouldn't be fun!" You gave the man a wide grin. He looked at you with narrowed steely gray eyes, restraining a laugh at the annoyance you saw there.

"What did you do this time?" he asked, his voice low.

"I taught one of the cadets a lesson." Your grin widened as you leaned back against the hallways concrete wall. "He needed to learn some manners."

He shook his head, frowning. "Y/N if you keep beating up on the cadets, giving them 'lessons' as you put it, we won't have enough soldiers."

You pouted at him. "I'm only doing my job. Come on Levi, lighten up a bit." You raised an eyebrow at him. Your lips turned up in a wicked grin. "Anyways who put you in charge of me? Are you my mother now?"

That seemed to strike a nerve. "I am your superior. Maybe you're the one who needs to learn a lesson."

"And who's going to teach it to me? You?" You waved your hand dismissively and turned away. For some reason you just loved to make Levi squirm. Someone had to challenge him after all and why shouldn't that be you? Even though he was your superior you found yourself almost needing to disobey him. Something inside of you seemed to just urge you on. "I'll see you later, shorty. Don't you have cadets to order around? I'm sure something needs cleaning."

"Y/N!" At his enraged voice you turned to see Levi gritting his teeth angrily, his eyes blazing with fire. "Come back here. That's an order!"

You blinked your eyes innocently, turning to face him once again. "An order sir?"

Fists clenched he moved until he was face to face with you. He was so close you could feel his warm breath on your face. You locked your eyes with his. It seemed to be a battle of who would back off first. His mind seemed to be racing. Licking your lips you moved your face a bit closer.

"Well sir? What's it going to be?"

"You are...unbelievable."

Well you hadn't expected that. "Unbelievable? What the hell does that mean?"

His brow furrowed. Your eyes never left his, and you were unable to read his emotions. It wasn't unlike you to feel nervous but your heart raced in your chest, loud enough that you wondered if Levi could hear it. Unusual emotions raced through your entire body. The lack of space between Levi and yourself made your mouth suddenly dry.

"I don't have time for this," you growled, turning your head away. Without another word you turned on your heels and walked quickly away. Little did you know the mad behind you was smirking.

You stayed away from Levi for the next few days. For the first time a man left you feeling uneasy. No one had ever dared to get in your face like that. No one. You made sure that you were in charge in any type of relationship you were in. It's just how you had always been. Your mother had always told you it was just a way to protect yourself, worried you would get hurt. At those words you would always roll your eyes. It wasn't true. Anyway you would never allow a relationship to harm you. You were a soldier. One of the brave that ventured outside of the walls.

Your squad seemed to sense a change in you. Some of the cadets began to slack off in their training. You corrected them quickly, always smiling at their fearful salutes. Everyone had seen the way you'd handled Braun and few seemed to want to be in his position.

Except that damn Levi.

He'd approach you, face unreadable as always. Each time you'd turn away to head in a different direction. This left you feeling angry with yourself.

"Avoiding him isn't the answer you know."

You glared at Hanji. Most days you'd end up in her study, enjoying the unusual peace that only came when she was reading. You hadn't told her or anyone else about your encounter. But Hanji always seemed to know things.

"I'm not avoiding anyone," you growled, taking a bite from your bread.

"Oh?" She turned in her chair. "You've skipped meals in the dining hall for the past few days and I've heard some of the cadets mumbling about you acting strange. And you are Y/N. Very strange."

You rolled your eyes. "I am not. Nothing is wrong."

"I know you're lying."

"Don't make me hit you."

A wide grin spread across her face. "Well that sounds more like you! But seriously Y/N...it's like you've fallen off of your horse and are afraid to get back up." She tapped her fingers on her desk. You didn't like the thoughtful look she gave you. "I know it has to do with a man. Its that look other woman have when their in love."

"I was serious. I will hit you." But her intuition had you feeling vulnerable. Damn her. How does she seem to know every little thing that happens around here?

"Get back up on your horse, Y/N. It's the only way to feel better. Plus..." Hanji shrugged. "I kind of miss you scaring the cadets. They're more likely to offer to help me when you've traumatized them."

That had you smiling. "Well it is my job isn't it? To make them stronger?"

"Yeah but it is not your job to make them pee their pants."

"Details, details." You jumped off of the box you'd been sitting on. "Get back up on the horse, eh?"

Hanji nodded. "Show that horse who's the alpha around here. Kick it's ass...well not really. You know what I mean."

You cracked you knuckles. "I guess that's just what I needed to hear."

"Do I get a thank you?" she called out as you left the room.

"I'll still punch you!" You called back, grinning.

"That's my girl," Hanji laughed, turning back to her books.

This was it. You sat in the dining hall early the next morning. It was quiet, empty. This was the time of day Levi came here, seeming to enjoy the silence while he had his morning tea. You twirled your finger around an empty cup, making sure you looked bored when he walked in, his morning tea steaming from the cup in his hand. For a few moments you doubted your plan. There was no way to know if it would work.

Get back up on your horse.

"Morning shorty."

Levi sighed. He ran a hand through his raven black hair. "It's too early to deal with you, Y/N. I've quite enjoyed the silence the past few days."

"I know you missed me." You stood when he sat down on the opposite side of the table he sat at. You leaned over it , resting your hands on your elbows as he sipped from his warm tea. "I'm here to make up for those days, Corporal."

He raised his brows, frowning in confusion. "You've given me enough trouble to last a life time. There's no need to make up for a few days."

"Really now? Are you sure I can't make it up to you in anyway?"

He seemed uneasy. You walked around the table, wrapping your arms around his neck. Levi shivered as your warm breath tickled his neck. He turned around, opening his mouth to speak. You crashed your lips against his, your hands tangling in his hair. Strong harms pulled you into his lap. He moaned into your mouth as you rocked your hips against his. His initial shock faded as he roughly grasped your hips. You pulled away from him, smiling at the sudden hunger in his eyes. His hands slipped under your shirt, cupping your breasts and you gasped in pleasure at his touch. You couldn't let him take control of the situation or your whole plan would be ruined. A growl escaped you and you started kissing up his neck, nipping every so often. Shock filled his eyes when you forced him to stand, only to push him back onto the table. The tea cup hit the floor, shattering loudly. Quickly you straddled him, leaning over to nibble at his ear.

"I'm going to show you who's in charge here, Corporal."
