Through the widespread fields of yellow and green, overseen by a bright, blue, cloudless sky, a streak of radiant gold sped its way. Immediately following it was a large blur of black and brown zipping at a similar pace. Both were accompanied by playful bits of merry laughter, particularly from the golden figure having the time of her life as she nearly giggled her head off."What's the matter, big guy?!" she taunted. "Life in the Pride Lands slowing you down?!""Oh, you're dead now!" the male responded, none of his malicious words matching the equally teasing tone in his voice.Kovu, former Outlander and now prince consort, continued to chase his mate, Princess Kiara of the Pride Lands, in a joyful romp across the fields. The grasses brushed against their fur as they ran, the wind whipping their mischievous faces and sweeping back Kovu's mane. The two had nearly gotten a good game of tag going when they had met in their cubhood, and now could finally partake in the childlike game, no longer needing to live apart due to the blind hatred of their higher authorities. The thrill that Kiara got from this fun with her best friend and true love was exhilarating, more fun than almost anything she had experienced in her younger days. She kept trying to fake the male out, weaving around trees and boulders wide enough to hide her, making like she would turn one way but then turning the other. But Kovu was too tricky for it, quickly reacting to all of her ruses and ensuring that no further distance was put between himself and his mate.Kiara had one more idea in mind. Rather than keep the chase going, she instead brought herself to a skidding stop. Kovu would have crashed right into her had she not then sprang up and pounced on him.The two lions' bodies collided in a heavy impact, with Kiara trying to wrap her legs around him to drag the larger lion down. But Kovu, by instinct, tossed the lioness off of him before she could do so.He came to regret that choice, however, when rather than hitting the ground, the golden princess ended up slammed into the thick trunk of a tree. She made impact on her back, grunting out loudly, before her body simply went limp on the softer grass."Kiara!" Kovu shouted, emerald eyes wide with worry. He shot up to his feet and dashed over to her, growing even more fearful when he saw that she wasn't moving."Kiara?" his smooth voice said as he hovered over her. He leaned down and nudged her face with his nose, continuing to whisper her name and scolding himself for hurting her like this.I was too rough, he thought miserably as he kept trying to wake her. What if her back is broken? What if I-His thoughts were cut off, however, when the golden young lioness suddenly sprang back to life and leapt onto him. He quickly found himself on his back, his princess standing over him with her paws pressed firmly into his chest. She then held her chin up pridefully as her face took on a smug expression directed down at him.It took the lion a few seconds to get over the shock of not only being pinned, but of his mate being okay and unharmed. He took a few deep breaths to recompose himself, before his cool-headed demeanor turned back on."Looks like you're getting better at pinning," he bemused."Hmph. Guess I am," Kiara replied confidently. Kovu snickered, looking up at her and admiring the female that had wormed her way into his heart. The princess of the Pride Lands was developing very nicely. Her muscles were healthy and toned, the legs holding him down having grown a little longer, sleeker, and more shapely. Her face had also matured a bit since their reunion, yet still maintaining the vibrancy of her unmistakable youth. She carried herself with even more confidence, becoming a tactful and resourceful young female as her physical abilities - many of which Kovu liked to credit himself for - and mind matured. She was holding on to but the bare remnants of her teenaged form, it dangling by a vine-like thread as it waited for her adulthood to cement itself. But she was still the same fun-loving, pure-hearted Kiara that he knew and loved. As was evidenced by how, once she had let him up, she was bouncing up to a nearby rock and jumping back down as if springs had been built into her paws. Her tail swished back and forth and her deep brown eyes beamed with mischief, a sign that she was feeling particularly frisky right now.But Kovu could only sigh as he thought back on what he thought had happened. "I was really worried there." He lowered his head, the tip of his mane falling over his eyes. "I thought I'd taken things too far. I … I didn't-"The young male was interrupted by Kiara's head nestling into his mane in comfort, as the lioness's energy simmered down in favor of the need to calm him. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you that much. I know you're still worried about yourself," she soothed. She wished he'd be able to trust himself the way she did."Yeah …" Kovu said ponderously. The lioness rubbed the length of her body alongside his to further show her love for him, relishing in the hard muscle under his fur that told her that she hadn't been the only one growing. Kovu let his muzzle brush against her as she trailed along, a smile plastered onto it that matched the one on hers. The two then decided that that was enough games for now. Instead, they opted to take a nice, gentle stroll through the lands. They greeted any creature they came across (at least, those who didn't flee at the sight of a pair of predators), enjoyed the sun beating down on their backs, and kept at most one inch apart as their bodies brushed up against one another, often accompanied by a sweet lick or tender nuzzle.Kovu soon looked out towards the sun, though, and seemed to have some sort of reaction to its position at the top of the vacant sky. He stopped his forward movement, and his mate followed suit in response."Hey, I told Vitani that I'd help her with something at noon, so I gotta head over now. Think you can handle yourself?" he asked.Kiara scoffed. "I think I can manage just fine … though I take it we'll see each other by tonight?" she said with a wink."Of course," Kovu chuckled. "Alright, I guess I'll see you later."He gave one last loving lick to the lioness's cheek, to which she closed her eyes and grinned warmly, before darting off across the grassy terrain. With that, Kiara was left to wander about the plains on her own. And so she went, a bright smile on her face and legs carrying her with pep in each step. When she was a cub, she could never do such a thing unsupervised. Through much of her adolescence, even, she was constantly under the watch of her father who, while a kind, caring parent, would often be the bane of the existence of an adventurous girl like her. And yet looking back, she could see why her father made those decisions; a lot was out there that could prey on an unsuspecting cub, especially considering that a plot to kill her family had been brewing throughout her life. Still, she felt he had gone overboard, especially as she grew into a less helpless adolescent. Their home was filled with dangers, she knew. But surely nothing could harm her now, right? She had certainly proven herself, having even had more than one successful hunt at long last.Kiara's thoughtful journey eventually took her to a massive baobab tree, one of the tallest and thickest that she, or any lion, had ever seen. It could be seen from her ledge on Pride Rock, but gazing upon it now for herself, she was shocked to see that it just might be bigger than Pride Rock! Many hollows were lined up along its trunk and appeared big enough for a lion four times her size to fit into. The shadows of a single branch were large enough to cover an elephant, and were close to reaching her even when she was well away from the tree's base.Such a remarkable feat of nature was more than overdue for her to get a closer look at. The young, explorative princess decided to make her way towards it, perhaps even willing to try and climb up. The view would certainly be remarkable.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Kaza was a creature of peculiar tastes. It was unknown where this green-scaled snake came from. He resembled a mix between a python and an anaconda, though his scales came in an unusual shade of bright, vivid, lime green. That wasn't the most surprising or distinguishable physical attribute he possessed, however; that honor went to his size.No one in Africa could ever say they'd seen a snake of his length. Large constrictors were already a powerful breed, but none had the ability to entrap animals as large as antelope, hyenas, and even lions. But he was the exception, thanks to just how much availability his size provided him with. His width also granted him the immense strength needed to actually contain these animals once they were in his hold. Of course, he more often than not was able to make filling meals out of such large game, meals that could let him go for weeks on end without any other bite. But for him, that was where the fun came in.For even when he wasn't in need of a meal, Kaza had still found a use for his rare power. He would either hunt down more unwilling victims or allow them to wander cluelessly into his domain, at which point he would then take them into his grasp the same way any snake would with its prey. But then, rather than eat them right away, Kaza would instead take the opportunity to relish in the power and dominance he now had over them. He would take them wherever he went, showing them around like an honored guest and relishing in their struggles. He would admire their form, their features, how resilient they were and how little such resilience did for them. He would usually hold on to them for days, rarely getting bored and never growing too tired to let them slip free … the latter of which was partially thanks to them going unconscious from the strain and breathlessness, allowing him to rest up before they came to and began the joyous process all over again. It was only when he did eventually grow tired of a particular captive that he ended their visit and filled himself up.The powerful creature didn't know where such desires came from. It was impractical, wasteful of his time and energy, and tempting fate that he may one day bite off more than he could chew, so to speak. And yet the devilish serpent couldn't help but give in time and time again, with each encounter he had further fueling him to continue making this his life's work. And he felt those desires surge back up as he spotted yet another dweller approaching the similarly-oversized baobab that he called home.It was a lioness. Her fur was a bright golden yellow that shined even from this distance. As she got closer, he could see that she was quite well-developed, her slender muscles and sleek legs carrying her with grace and ease. The way she walked about with the slightest hint of a bounce in every step hinted at a spunk to her, which alongside the increasingly-clear, beautiful face of hers, told Kaza that she was on the younger side.In other words, this beauty was everything he could ask for to satiate his twisted urges.Kiara, meanwhile, was unaware of the menacing yellow eyes stalking her, as she finally reached the base of the baobab. She looked up in pure awe, amazed that a tree like this could even exist. To think that something this massive came from the ground, yet now stood marvelously and dominantly over her like she was but an insect, simply amazed the curious feline.Had she only known it housed another unusually large, much more dangerous form of life. One whose enticement increased as he saw her waltz about the trunk, tail swishing lightly and pretty brown eyes unknowingly looking up at him.Once she found a branch (if it could even be called a branch from its size) within reasonable reach, the spry princess leapt up and latched onto the trunk, claws digging into the bark. She climbed for a second before launching off and onto the branch, wide enough to make room for five lions lined up in a row and thick enough to hold them all with no issue. She looked around and made another such leap, climbing up even further. Once she was a few levels up, Kiara had worked out a plan in her mind to reach her destination. All while admiring the scenery that even this elevation provided her.Kaza trailed her progress with excitement, observing the physical capability this creature displayed as she climbed. He watched her muscles tense up, her hindquarters wiggling as she adjusted for each big jump, legs working almost effortlessly to lift her up. The smile plastered on her muzzle spoke of a cheerful disposition, as well as an innocence to the evils of this world and a heart free of the darkness that dwelt in many beings. All of this would make her that much more fun to keep, to crush both her body and her spirit. He wanted to make her last while in his stay. A very long time.Kaza slithered his way in the lioness's direction, his mind continuing to fantasize over this hopeful new capture.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As Kiara neared the top of the baobab tree, she continued to take a few moments to stare out in awe of the scenery now before her.The sun beat down on every inch of her kingdom, the light touching all of it just as her father had told her. The plains, hills, and valleys were sprawled out as a massive, crooked blanket over the earth, housing the many different kinds of animals she could see roaming throughout. The water hole looked so big when she was drinking from it, and yet now it was but a speck in the landscapeShe truly was blessed to call such a magnificent place her home. Almost as much as she was to have the family she had to share it all with. She'd had to fight to keep it intact, to add to it even. And since then, everything she'd observed told her that it would now be able to last.Kiara felt invincible up here. The peaceful feeling washing over her brought a gentle sigh out of the princess, and as she lay there in a relaxed state, she found herself bringing her head down to rest on her crossed paws. As her hind legs sprawled out behind her and her body loosened up further, her eyelids blinked more heavily with each minute. After a morning full of activity, as well as the effort it took to make it up here, Kiara decided that an afternoon nap sounded quite nice right about now.Kaza watched as his target lay down. She was largely unmoving for a while, only casually lounging and stretching. Soon she even lowered her head down, and as the minutes went by, she didn't move. The constrictor waited a few more minutes, and still nothing. A bit more, and she still remained motionless. He could tell that she was no longer awake. Now was the time to strike, he decided. Quietly and carefully, his hulking form continued to slither closer to the lioness. All while she continued to lay still.Much to his budding excitement, the snake soon reached the feline. Keeping his lower half on the mighty platform of a branch, he lowered his upper body underneath the stretch of tree to finally get a good look at Kiara's face up close.Much to his delight, her eyes were closed, her breathing light and gentle, confirming that she was indeed asleep. Even more pleasing, he could finally see just how beautiful she was. Stunning, in fact. The only thing missing was being able to stare into her eyes, imagining them to complete the look on this elegant feline. But that would come soon enough. Right now, he had to secure her.Kaza began with Kiara's hind legs. His tail gently slipped underneath the outstretched limbs, his scales weaving through her soft fur. He coiled around them, careful to not jostle them enough to jolt the female but unable to resist lightly rubbing up against their perfection. He kept twisting and coiling up, his powerful muscles allowing her legs to end up further up the length of his body, meaning he could have more than enough room to snatch the rest of her.Once satisfied with her back legs, the snake slithered himself to brush by the feline's lean waist. He had to lift her up to get all the way around, but his impressive control made this doable. It did mean that he had to be deeply dug into her as her bottom half sat on his coils, but he didn't mind it whatsoever. She was healthy, fine, and her skin felt remarkable against his own. He had to give it a squeeze … just a light one, surely he could get away with that.Apparently not. As he relished in her skin pressed up tighter against his, he soon heard a quiet, feminine groan, indicating that he had disturbed her slumber. The shifting of her muscles in his grasp confirmed this; she was starting to stir. His time just got cut short, so Kaza made quicker work, coiling himself around Kiara's torso, reaching just below her lower chest. He still had plenty of room for his body to wind around the rest of her. He would just need to fight for it.Part of the fun, he thought joyfully. He tightened his grip to make sure she wouldn't get out, pleased to feel her straining as a result."Ah … wha … ?" Kiara mumbled, groggily surprised by the sudden pressure on her lower body. Kaza felt her try to move her back legs, only to not get the result she wanted."What the … what's going …"It was then that Kiara swiveled her head around, and her eyes - gorgeous, rich brown eyes, not disappointing in the slightest - shot up in shock when she saw the absolutely massive serpent, far larger than she thought possible, wrapped securely around her."AH!!" she shrieked. She immediately got up on all fours, fight instincts kicking in … or at least tried to with her hind legs squeezed together, the grip destabilizing her stance.Kaza swiftly tightened himself around her, and she shouted in pain. Kiara tried to ignore it and lashed her free front claws out at the serpent. But Kaza dodged it, his head and neck weaving to a distance as his lower body continued its work, wrapping around the paw Kiara had used. The lioness gasped and stomped on him with her other paw, hissing through her teeth as her ensnared foreleg was further constricted as a result. She then wrapped her jaws around the lime-colored snake and bit down hard, trying to tear him apart."Oooh!" Kaza shouted. Her efforts hurt him, no doubt, as her sharp, powerful teeth tore through his scales. But not only was his leathery skin tough enough to endure it without serious damage, but he deeply admired the fight this creature had. Even further as she tossed her neck back and forth to further assault him.But the snake responded by wrapping around her neck and grasping extra tightly. Kiara gasped and wheezed at the sudden, violent shortage of breath, and her paw's hold on Kaza was weakened enough for him to slip out from under it. He then adjusted himself around her neck to make more of his length available, all without lessening his hold."WHAT ARE YOU?!!" Kiara screamed, her cry made airier by the choking around her throat. She knew snakes could be big, but not … not this! Not enough to pose a genuine threat to her life! She swatted and gnashed at the attacker again, but he expertly dodged it as he resumed his work on her torso, winding his way around her upper chest. He slid through her shoulders, around her other front leg, and then snaked around her neck once more, further throttling the golden beauty. All while Kiara ferociously tried and failed to stop his progression. The more of her he managed to wrap up in his coils, the more limited her movements became and the less she was able to do to fight back.Kiara did finally manage to pin his neck down, grunting and heaving through the torment of his grasp doubling in tightness. But his massive tail then came down from above and, in a large sweep, circled around both her forepaws and constricted them securely together. One swift tug brought them out from under her, and she fell on her ensnared side as he got free."Agh! Stop this!" Kiara shouted, tugging and flailing her bound legs as they were cruelly crushed, desperate to get free. She thrashed in a frenzy, kicking and squirming with all her might, paws twisting and toes splaying. But at this point, she was too well-wrapped to put up a proper challenge, merely a heavy bundle of coils in his control. All she did was grant Kaza the sensation of her toned, elegant muscles squirming and shimmying in his coils, rubbing up against his scales heavily. He could watch his beautiful lioness fighting, her constricted body helpless in his grasp but still determined to escape. He chose to constrict further, eliciting a strained shout of distress."LET ME GO!!!" she roared, digging her teeth into the coils around her forepaws and trying to rip them loose."Such a lovely voice," Kaza crooned. "A shame it must be silenced."He then further wound around and squeezed her neck, weaving under her chin, and then moving to curl himself around the princess's golden head. He slid his leathery tail over her lips, tightening around her mouth and squeezing it shut."Mmmmph!!"Kiara's breathing had already been strained with the powerful grip strangling her. But now, with her mouth completely blocked, she could only breathe in and out through her nose, doing so rapidly as her heart raced and she gasped desperately for air. "MMMMRRRRMMM!!!"She struggled as hard as she could. She clawed out at whatever coils she could reach, but they either missed entirely or barely fazed the hardy serpent. She thrashed her smothered head to get her muzzle free, but Kaza just squeezed it even more, generating a muffled whine from the girl. She kicked her slick hind legs out as her toes lay splayed, now a useless bundle of massive coils that, again, Kaza chose to further squeeze with each defiant move they made.Amidst her pointless squirming, Kaza eventually wanted to truly get a good look at this stunning lioness. So, he made to tighten up his entire body, agonizingly strangling every inch of her that he had in his overpowering chokehold."HMMMMGH!!!" Kiara screamed through the thick, gagging tendril. The crushing was unbearable, and she fought even more. Her legs felt like they could be snapped clean off at any moment. Kaza tried to squeeze her into submission, but the defiant princess still increased her efforts. The cycle, while pleasant for the captor, would go on for too long and negate his efforts to really look at her. So, Kaza finally decided to shout out, "STOP!!"Kiara didn't know what possessed her to actually obey the reptile's command, but she did. He let up on her, only slightly, but that was enough for the desperate lioness to be grateful. She panted in and out through her nose, and rolled over to look at the monster holding her.For the first time, Kaza could truly get a good look at her eyes. They were deep pools of rich, dark chocolate, shining with blazing anger, accentuated by her lower face being covered in coils. They held great spirit and resolve, unsurprising given the vigorous defiance of this female. And yet, as Kaza zoomed in and brought his head inches away from them, accompanied by another restriction on her face, he saw their fury diminish. With his new proximity, the princess was no longer able to conceal her fear; she was terrified, and it showed. In the frightened look in her brown orbs, in how her ears were pressed against her skull, and in the pitiful little mewl blocked by the wrappings pressed down over her mouth."You are quite a pleasing sight, aren't you?" Kaza crooned."Nnnmmh," Kiara whined, his comment causing her to squirm once more."Not one for such compliments, dear?" he laughed.Am I going to die? she thought grimly. Please. Please no, don't let it end like this ... She thought about everyone she was about to lose, the future that was about to be taken from her. How after all she had faced, it was simply some freak of nature that would be the cause of her demise. No one would find her. She would leave them all grieving. And as for herself ... how would it feel to die? Worse, how it would feel to be eaten? Devoured? The utter, unfiltered fear and agony of her nightmare got to her, and Kiara screamed out."MMMMMMHHHHH!!!"She thrashed for her life, claws fully unsheathed as she tossed herself in Kaza's grasp. The snake fought back, throttling her as he maintained his dominance and kept all of her efforts useless.Kiara squirmed over to the edge of the massive branch the two creatures were on, sincerely ready to launch herself over. She didn't care if she fell to her death; anything was better than being a meal for this thing. But just as her upper body slid off, Kaza utilized his impressive strength to yank her back up."Ah ah ah. Where do you think you're going?" he taunted, dragging her away from the edge and back to her original position. As she was pulled, Kiara turned her gagged head back to the distance and screamed for help. "HMMMPP!!! PHNNMMNNN PRRMMNN HMMMMMM!!!" Tears began to form in her eyes, as she knew no one could possibly save her. She resisted the entire way back, before she found herself face-to-face with her captor once more.As his cold, malicious, yellow eyes bore into her kind, warm pools, she froze up. As he held his sinister gaze, she didn't even react as more of his body snuck its way around her bound forelegs and wrapped them in a folded position tightly against her chest, rendering them even more useless. Then, in that moment of terror, Kiara found herself trying to beg. Her utter desperation was actually driving her to think she could negotiate with this beast."Prmmn rnnmmghmm."But her smothered and gagged mouth could not produce the proper words. As if it would make any difference if it could."There there," Kaza mockingly soothed, his silky words and false comforting caressing her ear, the remaining tip of his tail brushing across her forehead. Kiara cringed and tossed her head to the side. "Mmmph." Even gagged and afraid, her voice is so pretty, Kaza thought. Sweet as a song.Everything about her felt wonderful, in fact. As he shifted his coils around, readjusting and retightening, he felt them brush through her soft, shiny fur, lean body, and healthy muscles that bulged and flexed in his hold. As he clutched her and felt the girl shaking and flailing, her warmth radiated off onto him, invigorating as he toyed with her and providing an unexpected source of comfort. He looked into her gorgeous, terrified brown eyes, with the princess returning as angry a glare as she could muster. His body shifted to grip her face a bit more firmly, just so he could hear that delectable voice wrapped into quieted whimpers. He shifted himself so as to have more available length, which he used to overlap and re-wrap his feline further in his self-made cocoon.Kiara's experience was, of course, the exact opposite. Unlike the warmth she provided him, Kaza's skin was cold, unpleasant, even a touch moist, as it weaved and slid across her whole body. It was disgusting, demeaning to be felt up like this in his tight, shifting grasp, her fur pressed against his slithering leather. Not to mention the throbbing ache coursing through her as he kept compressing her, the pressure building and her breath feeling like it was falling shorter by the second. It let up only occasionally when he readjusted, but the pain was just as quickly renewed when he then clutched her again. Her hind legs and hips, not as heavily wrapped, kicked and bucked opposite her upper body. Can't ... breathe ... she thought, heaving through her nose what little air could travel through her strangled form. She looked out across the lands again, the lands that once appeared so inviting but were now looking more out of reach than ever. As she felt her body creak under the stress, the tears forming in her eyes finally leaked out, her moans deep and shaky past the gag.Why is he making this so miserable? she thought. Why is he dragging this out? While she certainly didn't want to be eaten, if it was going to happen anyway, she failed to see why he had to make her final moments seemingly as hellish as possible."I'll have such fun with you, dear," Kaza whispered into her ear. "We'll grow to be great friends."What?? What is he talking about? He ... he's not eating me?"Oh yes, I'll grow very fond of you. Even more than I already have," he added, giving another merciless squeeze that had Kiara let out a stifled shriek and convulsion. It was perhaps her imagination, but she could swear that she felt her bones buckling, and she went through a series of impulsive spasms at the strain. She wasn't quite at the point of suffocation, but it was close. And it would come fairly quickly at this rate. She had to get out of this. But how?"So don't be discouraged," Kaza said. "It's no fun when my toys don't work." He constricted her even more, and at this point Kiara didn't know how much longer she could go before her air was cut off entirely. If this sadistic freak was truly trying to keep her alive, he was not doing the greatest job."Hmmm ... mmmph ..."She tossed herself to lash out at Kaza, but he avoided her. She tried again, still to no avail. She was too weak to properly fight, and even if that wasn't the case, he was just too fast and held her in too disadvantageous a position. If she wanted to get him, she needed him to not see it coming. After a bit more time, Kaza began to notice that his pretty princess was struggling less and less. She still squirmed, but not with as much strength or resolve. She whined, but more softly. And yet she still acted and sounded just as panicked; in fact, even more so. As if she suddenly believed that her time was running short."Hehe, getting tired, honey?" Kaza chuckled. He once again gave a new squeeze, one that was tighter than he had given at any point in her capture."Mmmgg!" Kiara let out a sharp, muffled yelp, seemingly renewed in her efforts. But even those soon died down, and she appeared to be putting up even less of a fight than she had before."Don't you give up on me now," Kaza growled, constricting her once more, cold leather slithering across her warm-blooded body. Kiara jumped and shuddered, appearing desperate to escape but looking less fit to do so than ever. She eventually wasn't even thrashing as much as weakly wriggling and fidgeting. Which was still a delight for the evil serpent to experience, but he was disappointed that such a fiery being was at this point already. He had to keep her going; she was too much fun to let this time with her be cut short. And he was too drunk with power to hold back. So he kept strangling, kept constricting, kept trying to get every last spark still remaining in her. He paid no mind to whether or not she'd be able to even breathe at all, only concerned with elongating his play time. But to his disappointment, she wasn't playing along. She currently was barely moving, only light wheezes escaping her coiled-up mouth, only twitches of her bound limbs showing that she was even still aware of her situation.Kaza growled and tightened himself even further. However, this seemed to do the opposite of what he'd intended; rather than rejuvenate the lioness, she now lay completely still. He could still feel her blood pumping, and looked over to see that her chest was ever-so-slightly rising and falling, moving his coils with it. But when he glanced over to her face, Kaza saw that her eyes were now closed, her head having gone limb and resting on the bark. He squeezed again, but got no reaction. He brushed his tail against her nose, nudging her head with his own, but again was met with nothing.Hmph ... A shame, he thought. While I still have her for myself, I'd have thought her stronger than this.Coming to terms with the reality that he now had to wait to have her awake and struggling again, Kaza simply sighed in disappointment. Wanting to give himself a rest after all that, the snake loosened himself around her. Not all the way, but enough to allow slack and let himself relax, though he did release her forepaws from her chest. It seemed that he'd overdid it on this one. He just couldn't help himself; she was so beautiful, and such a feisty, determined opponent. This lioness was everything he could possibly hope for in a catch, and he knew that he could get away with calling her the greatest he had ever gotten. So he couldn't fully blame himself for getting carried away in his bliss and heaven.Oh well. Once she re-awakens, I'll be better. I'll make sure to keep it going as long as I-A piercing roar cut off his thoughts. As did the sudden force on his throat pinning him down to the bark of the branch, and the claws digging into his scales."AAGH!!" he cried. When Kaza looked up, he saw the lioness suddenly wide awake and holding him down. He was quick to get his length secured back around her again, but although she winced and hissed in grueling pain, she didn't let up on his neck. He tried to lift her up, getting her a few inches in the air, but she grasped onto him to keep herself from letting go.Kiara would not let go. Never. Not until this beast was no more. Not even as the horrid sensation of coils shifting and constricting returned tenfold, bringing her back to the horrific reality.Upon realizing she needed to sneak up on the creature, Kiara was quick to resort to the same trick she'd used on Kovu earlier that day. Though it was far more difficult this time. Needing to hold herself back in her struggles to give the illusion she was passing out while gradually reducing said struggles, needing to breathe minimally enough to make it appear that she was going unconscious without actually doing so, and enduring Kaza's cruelty as he fought to keep her awake ... it had taken every ounce of her self-control to maintain the charade. But it worked. And she would make sure it was not for nothing.Kaza gasped for the air that wouldn't come. In a dark irony, he was now the one short on breath, the one struggling to get free from an unyielding hold. That would simply not do. He tripled down on his constriction, this time determined to truly take Kiara out. This girl was clever, but she would not be the one to end his reign of terror. The lioness responded to his efforts by reinforcing her own grip, as well as biting into his neck and attempting to rip him to shreds. Kaza screeched out, but was quick to wrap his tail around her muzzle, forcing it closed."Mmmrrrph!!" Kiara cried, no longer able to use her teeth and once again having her airways cut in half. But her paws remained brutally pressed against the snake's neck, not letting go even as she felt herself genuinely suffocating. The two opponents were in a war of attrition, each trying to choke the other out before they themselves succumbed to the duress inflicted onto them. Kaza hacked and gasped, flailing his upper body to get out, his massive length similarly writhing. All while Kiara had to ignore the searing hot pain of his coils nearly crushing her to death. She moaned into her wrapped muzzle, trembling as her body screamed out in terror.I can't give in! Fight it, Kiara! she yelled at herself.Fall, you insolent creature! Fall! You will not best me! Nothing will best me!! Kaza screamed internally.Kiara felt herself collapsing on the inside, fully convinced that some bone was close to snapping from Kaza's efforts. She screeched out when she felt a sharp, powerful burst of pain suddenly shoot through a hind leg. The toll she was taking made her wonder how she'd even get home, or even down from this tree. But she would be in a far worse state should her enemy get loose. And that idea was enough motivation for her to take this all the way.And after several minutes, Kaza could feel himself beginning to fade.No ... NO!! I am the ultimate animal in this world! he thought bitterly. ME!!And yet he couldn't deny the numbness plaguing his body, the dark spots beginning to form in his vision.Nor could he, hard as he tried, prevent himself from loosening himself around the lioness in his failing state. This was a miracle for Kiara, who found her strength returning just as her body had been about to give in. Kaza tried his best to regain his grip, but when Kiara took advantage of the moment and applied even more pressure to his throat, he found himself unable to achieve this.Eventually, his hold around Kiara's muzzle also started to go slack. And that was all Kiara needed to open her jaws as wide as they could go and wrap them around the serpent's neck. She clenched down as tightly as possible, the girth of the writhing snake filling up her mouth, his slimy scales against her tongue making her cringe in disgust. She then thrashed her head and snapped his neck. With one final, agonized wail from Kaza, his muscles went completely limp in an instant.Kiara then found herself covered in the unmoving, dangling coils of a creature forever silenced. Yet she assaulted him even more, making extra sure that he was truly dead and could never torture her, or any other innocent animal, ever again. It was expending what little energy she had left, but she didn't care.Once she was finally satisfied, she dragged his massive length to the edge of the branch and chucked him off. She then took a lower section of him and did the same, initiating the process of him slowly sliding off, until his tail finally left the elevation. Kiara watched as the monster fell down the baobab, seeing him make loud impact with the ground below. He then lay motionless, the sight of his entire, gargantuan body sprawled out in the grass slightly unsettling, but far better than the image of him alive and well. She hoped that the vultures made good work of him.The lioness gasped, loudly heaving in and out through her mouth, her chest drastically rising and falling as she gulped down gallons of much-needed fresh air. Dry sobs wracked her as she coughed violently. She collapsed onto the ground, her legs giving out and refusing to support her any longer. Her right rear leg was in particular pain, more so than the rest of her, and she was convinced that it had been broken. Now that the danger was gone and she was safe, Kiara found herself unable to move. She was shaking, still aching from where she'd been squeezed and still feeling as though her windpipe hadn't fully reopened. She moaned. Her eyelids grew heavy, her head lolling to the side, as her thoughts slowly faded away. She had nothing left.In under a minute, everything around her went black.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The first thing that Kiara heard was the sound of falling rain, heavy enough to be prominent but not too much to not be a pleasant sound to wake up to. The pitter-patter was like music to her ears, a refreshing way to return to the world. As the rest of her senses slowly came back to her, she could also feel something rubbing gently into her side. As well as a familiar, warm female voice whispering, "She'll be okay."As she finally opened her eyes and blinked herself awake, the princess heard a few light gasps coming from around her. She turned her head feebly, and saw her mother and father looking down at her with simultaneous great worry and relief."... Sweetie?" her mother said cautiously."Yeah, mo- *cough* *cough*"Kiara found her voice deeply ragged and sore, unable to get out two full words without a fit of coughing. Speaking for just that moment was straining, and it took her a few seconds to regain control of her breathing."Shh, shh, take it easy," Nala said, leaning down to nuzzle her daughter's face. "Just rest."It was then that Kiara remembered. The snake, her abduction, the battle between them, her emerging triumphant … and then ultimately passing out from the damage done to her. Damage that clearly hadn't fully passed. Her chest and stomach felt dreadful, and her legs were stiff and sore. She could feel something wrapped around her right hind leg, and turned to see that it was a makeshift splint made from sticks and vines. That's right ... that leg broke, she thought. Her ears folded back against her head. She methodically tested the limb, and tensed up when doing so only served to aggravate it.Seeing Kiara's distress, Simba spoke up."Kovu found you near the top of some baobab tree," he explained. "He brought you back here, and Rafiki looked you over. He ... he saw you had a broken leg, a-and some other bruises."The king's voice wavered as he said this, and for once Kiara couldn't blame him. How must her family have felt seeing her in such a state? Not to mention the dozens of questions they must have as to how it even happened to her up on that tree.As if on cue, Kovu entered her sights, and dug his muzzle into her neck. He hit a sore spot, though, and she flinched back without thought."Sorry, sorry," the male said awkwardly. But Kiara only rolled her eyes and pressed her head against his chest. She felt a new wave of tears spilling out as he wrapped a strong foreleg around her, clearly trying to be as gentle as possible. Spurred on by the affectionate scene, Simba and Nala joined in as well, trying to embrace their daughter and make her feel as safe as possible as she let her emotions out.Kiara remembered the dreadful, unbearable feeling of that serpent's cold grasp smothering her, putting her entire body through torture. The slithering coils, the cold scales, those malicious eyes … How stark the contrast that was to now: her mother, father, and mate all covering her body with warm nuzzles and loving hugs. The lush red mane of her father brushing against her neck, her mother's lengthy torso rubbing past her own, Kovu's firm muscles wrapped tenderly around her. All of them whispering sweet words of comfort, making her feel more protected than she could ever remember. She sighed out happily, trying to return each and every gesture despite the effort it took."What happened to you?" Kovu asked, his voice trembling. "We looked all over for you, and when I finally found you on that tree, I … I thought …"He pressed his forehead against hers like he'd never get the chance to touch her again, and she eagerly returned it."What happened?" he repeated.Kiara let out a dry, mirthless laugh. How in the world was she to explain what had transpired today?"It's a really crazy story," she answered in a raspy tone. "I still don't know if I believe it." She said that, and yet what she went through couldn't have not been real. No dream could be so vividly painful.Kovu's brows furrowed a bit in confusion, but he thought it best to not press her on it right now. To which the princess was grateful. She didn't want to think back on it. She only wanted to focus on right now, when she was returned back home and with her family where she belonged. She also wanted to focus on her sense of triumph, subdued as it was. She had believed herself to be above most of the dangers that would have threatened her at younger years. But this event was proof that her kingdom, even for strong, adult lions, could still be very unsafe, and posed serious threats that many wouldn't even imagine to be possible. And yet she also proved that she could take them on and come out victorious.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Lion King franchise, the lion characters, and the images used to make the photo edit above, all belong to Disney.
