There is just something about rust that is inherently beautiful. Maybe it is the signaling of time and it's ruthless progression, like a subtly modern 'memento mori'. Wonderful decay!

It is also very hard to tame and control. I have been trying to come up with a simple, effective and controllable process in which to make rust on every imaginable surface, not just metal. It is a lot harder than what I imagined when starting this experiment 6 months ago. It is only recently that I've been able to get some impressive results. The hard thing remains though... it is very difficult to make it look and feel natural, but I'm getting better at it!
