Description One of my paintings of the Heathen Gods and Goddesses.

This is Hoder (the Danish version of the god Hod). Hoder was the lover of Nanna the princess of the Danes. Balder also desired Nanna and tried to woo her without success. Undeterred Balder raised an army of gods and attacked Hod with a fleet of ships. Hoder successfully held them off and even managed to break Thor's weapon (here described as a club). Hoder eventually killed Balder using a magical sword. Odin's son Bo later avenged Balder.

Awesome. Saxo's version of Hotherus (that's his name in the story) never gets enough credit. Totally faved.

this piece called to me as soon as I saw it in thumbnail in your profile. I love the glow to it, like stained glass.
It seems that the simpler paintings convey the Gods the best. And I appreciate that you offer context for your art. : )

Glad you like?

I would love to work in stained glass but it is rather an expensive hobby
