Description well, sorry for the confusion, its only because i myself was confuggled...Recieved a note to say, check out rule number 10, it refers to not publishing piece anywhere until competition closes..in a state of calm frenzy i deleted image..

Sent a note to co-ordinator that i was a naughty artist and he says, no worries mate, it just refers to publishing in print

well now its back up again, with all those wonderfull comments gone ..

anyways, glad to re- present "significance of the way" inspired by Greg Bears' 'EON'.

Such an amazing reply, thank you. I put a lot of heart and soul into this work. I've recently rediscovered my earlier concept works for the Eon competition. Quite interested in playing around in 3d to realise Axis Nadir!.

Always an honour to leave an impression with fans of any series.

I enjoy Greg Bear.

I'm very impressed with this. Very other-worldly, colorful, and different. Sci-fi, imaginative, and a little bit impossible.

This is as very beautiful painting.
You make me want to pick up the book and finish it...but there are sadly other things to do. Till then, this'll keep me occupied!!

woooo!!
very belatedly just found this.

beautiful and reminds of the athletic power/movement of (without looking like) the Thoth Tarot Deck by Lady Frieda Harris & A. Crowley.

and, since i don't get the publishing reference, it's all good! just a great image.

Thank you very much, This was one pain in the ass..but it was great to get it finished for sure ^^.

'EON' was somewhat of a mediocre sci-fi novel, great concept, focused too much on politics between Russia and America (since this was published during the mid eighties), but had quite an exciting ending, well from what i remember at least ...But not a novel i found i highly recommend, even tho i enjoyed it,, hahahaha how bout that

the thing in the backround almost has a biological quality to it, like its alive and looking at the city even though its prolly not i guess thats how i saw it at first

Thats the coolest thing about art, you can see virtually anything in a piece (in actuality its a pre-requisite for my favourite pieces)..It's nice to know my art does this..Thank you very much ^^

Yea, i was right involved with it..One of the best artistic experiences i have had, not because of receiving, but what you can give back that actually helps someone is quite gratifying...My only wish is that the judging process finishes soon. I completed my piece on the cusp of New Years Eve..That is an artistic eternity ago .

Thank you very much

, many thanks mate, for the kind words, and i know the frustration of not capturing ones imagination well. I reckon i have only just nailed all the nuances in the process of creating a piece and its taken me all of near 5 years to get here (i started "Wacom-ing" november 2002)..

This actually was such a struggle i was very lucky to be able to finish

If your interested, the entire process of this piece can be found here on cgtalk

its shows the various concepts aswell.

original idea sparked by this wood grain pattern

Anyways, thanks very much for great compliment

take care
