Description
On our way to the Sea Eagles I visited a wolf park with some colleague photographers. Before we arrived I wondered if my 300mm wouldn't be to short to take good pictures.
But I never would have thought my wide angle would almost be too long.....!
We were kinda thrown in the area and as soon as we entered the wolves jumped on us and started licking our faces...
They appeared to be raised by people and not aggressive at all.
It was pretty difficult to take good pictures, since they were almost in my lens, but is was an unforgettable experience to be able to hug these magnificent creatures. (did I ever mention I'm afraid of dogs...?

Wow! You are very lucky! I have always wanted a dog! And to see a real wolf in person, I would probably have a heart attack! (of joy)

I've been reading too many wolf-comics, his ears look short to me. Weird how I've associated wolves with german-shepherd-sized ears.

Ooo, reminds me of this one place in Southern California called Wolf Mountain Sanctuary that I went to last year for my birthday. (nearly a year ago) I was too short to go into the pens, so they brought one out for me who was older and more mellow. I got to walk him around like a dog, and he was so sweet, he even gave me some kisses and rubbed against me.
Hopefully this year I'll be tall enough to go in and hang out with more of the wolves.

I want to go! Wolves are my favorite animals save horses, most definitely. It'd be the coolest thing ever to hug one.
Where was this?

Yay wolfies!
I met a lady who owned two wolves (breeding pair). She told a story about how when the male was "hitting puberty" he kept testing his limits trying to challenge her for dominance. Finally she ended up tackling him, wrestling him, and pinning him to the ground... staring him in the eyes until he broke eye contact... apparently been a good pup ever since ... fun story, but I would not recommend doing that in any situation with a wolf.

Ah, that must have been amazing! I'd love to do that. The UK Wolf Trust go to a local animal rescue place when they have an open day and you can pet the wolves so I hope to do that some time.

Sorry to bother you again, but I can't find any useful information on-line that would help me find the place. Do you remember the name of the venue, any kind of contact information, anything?
