Ah, yea there is your problem.

Detailed images in a .png format aren't widely accepted on most uploading platforms. Since they are lower quality the .png format has to make up for lost detail, aka they up the file size.

I would suggest uploading your art in a .jpeg format or converting it into .jpeg via the program you use for your art. It'll hand better as it compresses the image but does not butcher the quality; even if you decide to use the 'higher quality' format of .jpeg which is 12 (sometimes higher but rare).
