"This Makuta fellow sure has a strange sense of humour,"
Pohatu struggled as he was reaching down towards the small stone sticking out of the cliff wall.
It was admittedly pure luck that Pohatu had managed to find the location of his Kanohi Pakari, the mask of strength, lying in the canyons of Po-Wahi.
More so that Toa Onua also had a mask rumoured to be hidden around the same area, and was more than willing to help out.
Less lucky however was the fact that the mask of strength was hidden on a small, fragile stone, protruding out of a cliff wall and hanging loosely over a great chasm in the steep canyon.

"Endure, brother,"
Onua responded with a strained voice, as he concentrated on holding a firm grip around Pohatu's left ankle while also holding on to a thin ledge on the canyon's cliff wall.
"At the very least, we are putting the virtue of unity to a test."

"Not that I'm complaining,"
Pohatu called back, remembering the chilly and distant attitude of Kopaka from their earlier meeting.
"Speaking of endurance, how are you holding up?"

"I'll manage,"
Onua said.
"But admittedly, these cliffs aren't so sturdy or easy to get a grip on."

"Not to worry, brother. Almost...have it now..."

Suddenly, a massive rumbling shook the canyon, and the very foundations of the island seemed to shake the two Toa off the cliff walls.

"No!",
Pohatu yelled startled, as the Pakari started to shake loose and fall into the chasm.
It only got worse, however.
Looking up, he noticed Onua's grip on the ledge started to slip.

"We're going to fall!"
Onua's tried desperately to bury his claws deep into the rock, but it was too late.
The two Toa were free falling.

Pohatu reacted quickly.
Using his Kanohi Kakama, the mask of speed, he first jumped off the cliff wall to grab the falling Kanohi Pakari, putting it on his face as quick as he could.

"Now, let's put that strength to the test,"
Pohatu smirked.

Pohatu put all of his new found strength to his legs to launch himself upwards.
With a crunching noise as the cliff wall cracked, and the sound of a sonic boom caused by the speed, Pohatu flew up from the chasm and easily caught the Toa of Earth mid-air.
The jump managed to get them just in position to grab the highest ledge of the cliff wall.

"An impressive display, brother!"
Onua called to Pohatu, breathtaken by the quick save.
"But how did you manage to build up so much speed without using your Kakama?"

"There are many forms of strength, brother,"
Pohatu snickered cheekily.

Onua nodded back, and the two climbed up the canyon.
It was time to move on and find the next mask.

I honestly have been pretty stagnant on the Bionicle related submissions. So, to at least upload something related to it this month, I made this.
It isn't connected to any specific canon story, but features a short story I myself wrote. I hope this bit-sized fanfic (I mean, that is what it practically is) will be authentic enough to be seen as potentially canon to the Bionicle lore.
