IX is my friends absolute favorite Final Fantasy so as a gift for his birthday I decided to pull out all the stops. I've been wanting to share this for sometime now, hopefully you guys dig it as well. IX is one of my favorite of the Final Fantasy's, I had recently played through the game for a third time not to long ago and was glad to find it still holds up rather well.Related content

This style seems to remind me of the animation design of that one Superman cartoon (the one with Superman's VA as that of Sephiroth)...

Well Bruce Timm and the art crew from those shows are one of my biggest influences as an artist.

It's always good to have influences. Mine is mostly Hong Kong artists.
I just asked because Zidane's face reminded me of the semi-drunken magician character from that Superman cartoon, though I don't see him either drunk or complaining about a tight sphincter...

I ran out of room and wanted the focus to be on the heroes rather then the villains. I decided to add in the the three most important or stand out summons in my experience in the piece to tie in with Eiko and Garnet. Above all I probably just forgot Kuja was never the reason I enjoyed IX the way I did in all honesty.

No prob, in retrospect I probably would now have added Kuja and Garland. Just getting all the cast in there was an ordeal in itself, originally it was just going to be a piece with Freya. Then I added Vivi then Zidane and it spiraled from there at one point Quina wasn't in the piece at all. Then I decided it was important to make s/he fit in so I rearranged it all over again. It was well worth it though, I'm still very pleased 2 months after finishing the piece in the future I may do the same for some other Final Fantasy's.
