Colour Chart
BEHOLD! THE MEGACHART! So wow, much big.
PLEASE NOTE: Modifier genes highlighted in red are not available for basic bacon designs!
They can only be acquired through purchasing RARE custom designs with Bacon Points, through auctions or by breeding an in-game fawn. This Megachart is to help Fawnling creators work out what colours are available to them when making designs, and what their genotype would be. It should answer such questions as "Can I create a free Sooty Apricot Pearl?" (A: Not without Bacon Points!) or "What's the genotype for a Strawberry Roan?" (A: ee/nRn).In order to use the Megachart, pick a base colour from the top row, and then pick as few or as many of the modifier genes from the left-hand column to stick on top! Or go the opposite way, pick a colour that you like, then take one o

They do indeed! Perlinos, cremellos and smoky creams all have blue eyes, anything with two cream genes will The champagne gene causes pretty hazel, or anywhere between pale green and pale amber.Β

Have a look at the description of the pattern sheet Stars are "horse-like" markings, and not available on fawnlings!

How come all black coat variations are closed for creation?
π: 0 β©: 1
Tigglesaurus In reply to ArcticNightStudios [2014-01-15 13:43:56 +0000 UTC]
Because simply black is actually a fairly rare colour to come across, there are many other dominant genes that mess with it! We also wanted to keep some colours rarer than others; particularly some of the more sought-after ones like black, grullos and blue roans. That way when they pop up in auctions or you've earned enough Bacon Points, it's something to get excited about!

Pearls are considered a rare colour, so in order to keep them rare we did have to restrict them. There are plenty of other gorgeous colours to choose from though!

Playing-Koi In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-01-10 18:32:02 +0000 UTC]
Eh not really. Between cutting off most of the colors and virtually eliminating all patterns that make these guys fun to look at I don't much see the point in designing one. There's no real room for any unique look or exciting design. I'd just as soon wait for more imports or buy a baby from a current player.
The charts look quite nice though!

With design a fawnling with the grey gene do we need to show the grey on the design as I want to do a grey on sooty Parange flaxen black chestnut but I don't want to show the grey till it turns 7-10 years old.
π: 0 β©: 1
Tigglesaurus In reply to Taz123321 [2014-01-04 13:41:07 +0000 UTC]
You can show the grey in whatever stage you like There should be some grey if they're over one year old, I'd have thought, even if it's just some steely frosting

I have a question: If the horns represent the color of the mane, is it posible for a Seal-based Gray to have a darker mane since it's horn is black?
π: 0 β©: 1
Tigglesaurus In reply to Claiy [2014-01-03 21:18:20 +0000 UTC]
Greys are different, as the horn reflects the colour of the mane when they are born (which on most bases is dark), and does not lighten with age. Grey itself comes in many forms and stages! During the middle stage, it is perfectly possible for the mane and tail to be as dark as the horn, but as the fawnling gets older eventually the mane and tail will lighten too

I just want to be clear, where do dunalinos fall into this category? Are they free to create or is it just everything on this chart (not high-lighted in red) that we can create?
π: 0 β©: 1
Tigglesaurus In reply to MoonShinersDaughter [2014-01-03 15:51:05 +0000 UTC]
Dunalinos are certainly allowed You can combine any of the non-red genes

Me has question!
So I see on this chart that blue eyes are only shown when the fawnling carries CrCr.
Does that mean that blue eyes are possible on CrCr colours only?
Or do they show on other colours as well, or, for instance, if thereΒ΄s a white marking covering the eyes (if thatΒ΄s even possible)?
Just asking. :3

Melodies-Of-Love [2014-01-03 04:23:30 +0000 UTC]
which gene would seal bay need to be recessive?
π: 0 β©: 2
Tigglesaurus In reply to Melodies-Of-Love [2014-01-03 10:48:11 +0000 UTC]
If by recessive you mean "heterozygous" then =WeyHeyitsKay is bang on, you want Ata.Β
If you mean that they carry seal bay but show as regular bay or wild bay (or even show as chestnut but carrying bay), then you can have AAt for regular bay or A+At for wild bay, and in both cases they'll be able to pass the dominant bay AND the recessive seal bay
Hope that helps!

I have 2 questions :3
First: Is there any guide for the colour of horns? Or can they be any brownish colour? Or only as it is shown in this sheet?
Second: In the description it says "All Fawnlings have brown eyes!" I colorpicked the eye colour of my first fawnling Mauricius from the design sheet and that was some kind of blue/violet. And he is only single cream. Do I have to change it? (Got him nearly a year ago) Or can the eyes stay as they are? xD
π: 0 β©: 1
Tigglesaurus In reply to TuttibirdArts [2014-01-03 10:01:08 +0000 UTC]
#1 - horns tend to reflect the colour of the mane, but they can vary through brownish colours too
#2 - that particular design sheet has some highlight on the eye that made colourpicking unreliable - the eyes were most definitely brown! If you could change the eye colour to brown that would be great!

I am so excited about the free character creation thingy. Β Not that I think that all of the current ways of getting fawnlings is bad, but I'm new to the community, and it made me feel guilty for asking for breedings to get one. Β Sort of an "I'm a newb, give me free stuff," thing. Β I'm fully prepared to read all the things and make my own fawnling. Β So thanks for making charts like this one, guys.
