Colour Chart

BEHOLD! THE MEGACHART! So wow, much big.
PLEASE NOTE: Modifier genes highlighted in red are not available for basic bacon designs!
They can only be acquired through purchasing RARE custom designs with Bacon Points, through auctions or by breeding an in-game fawn. This Megachart is to help Fawnling creators work out what colours are available to them when making designs, and what their genotype would be. It should answer such questions as "Can I create a free Sooty Apricot Pearl?" (A: Not without Bacon Points!) or "What's the genotype for a Strawberry Roan?" (A: ee/nRn).In order to use the Megachart, pick a base colour from the top row, and then pick as few or as many of the modifier genes from the left-hand column to stick on top! Or go the opposite way, pick a colour that you like, then take one o

Alright, one more question: I read that royals aren't able to produce princess does, I only wanted to make sure?

Tigglesaurus In reply to TeacupDreams [2014-06-20 18:14:17 +0000 UTC]

Only princesses can have princess babies

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TeacupDreams In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-06-20 22:59:38 +0000 UTC]

alright i asked since princesses can only be born palomino- or cremello-based, and thank you I was asking just to be sure since some of the coat colors are the same ^-^

Tigglesaurus In reply to TeacupDreams [2014-06-20 23:07:04 +0000 UTC]

All princesses are palomino or cremello, but not all palominos/cremellos are princesses "Princess" is a term reserved for that line in particular, all with light magic

TeacupDreams In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-06-20 23:19:47 +0000 UTC]

So no princess has bore a palomino or cremello filly with earth magic xD or would that also be considered a decline in the magic?

Tigglesaurus In reply to TeacupDreams [2014-06-20 23:20:40 +0000 UTC]

all princess daughters (with glenmore fathers) are princesses with light magic ^_^

Hello! I was wondering what Ee/AA/nG/nCh would be? I know what would be created with either just nG or just nCh, but don't know if having them both in there would create something different, if that makes sense lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to xsilverlinings [2014-06-19 15:50:59 +0000 UTC]

That would be a Grey (Sable Champagne) - grey lightens the coat over time, so the colour would change from a pale/livery brown to white over the course of their lifetime, with green or amber eyes ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xsilverlinings In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-06-19 16:26:07 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure I understand. On the chart, Sable Champagne comes from the Seal Bay base coat color, so I'm not sure how that came up. Did you mean a different champagne color, or am I just stupid? xD

Sorry, I am definitely a novice when it comes to genes lol.

No don't worry I'm just being an idiot XD sorry! You're totally right, I mean AMBER champagne with grey XD I always get them muddled!

Is it possible to have a Palomino Dun?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to iced-ninja [2014-06-18 11:13:56 +0000 UTC]

If the genetics if the parents allow, yep! the combo is commonly called a "dunalino"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iced-ninja In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-06-18 13:09:10 +0000 UTC]

OK. What about a Cremello dun? Would that be a rare design?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to iced-ninja [2014-06-18 13:26:41 +0000 UTC]

That would be rare, yes The basic and rare only apply when "buying" a design with Bacon Points, however. So if someone in the game has a genetically compatible pair, they could breed you a cremello dun

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iced-ninja In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-06-18 13:28:32 +0000 UTC]

Yay! Ok, more questions! Maybe I should note you with all these questions! Because the fawn will have blue eyes because of the cremello gene, does that mean that the fawn will be royal?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to iced-ninja [2014-06-18 14:57:02 +0000 UTC]

It depends on the parents A "royal" is closely related to the king, so you just need to find a pair of Glenmores that have the "royal" status to be her parents if you're thinking of princesses, they all have a princess mother, but there's very few of those about!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

iced-ninja In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-06-18 16:16:50 +0000 UTC]

Oh no, I want her to be a commoner. ^^ Too many scandals in the Royals as it is. Besides, I think I'll do better with a commoner as my first fawnling. In the Breeding Request Journal, do I need to say the genotype that I want?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to iced-ninja [2014-06-18 18:50:30 +0000 UTC]

If you have a particular one in mind then feel free to add one ^_^ It's a month and half until rut opens again, so you may be in luck getting the colour you like

OK! Thanks! I'll add it to the journal now!

Is this for fawn designs or is there going to be another open design journal?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to Crimson-Forest-Farm [2014-05-14 10:12:59 +0000 UTC]

Whoops, this used to be relevant to open creation but that closed after January I must have missed a reference to the Open creation, but I've removed it now, sorry for the confusion! This is now just a reference for Fawnling genetics, and what counts as a "Basic" bacon custom design and what counts as "rare".

Hey question, for my fawnbid i wanted to put down her NPC parents colors which were: Double Cream Chestnut Partially Restricted for the mother and Flaxen Liver Chestnut Max. Partially Restricted for the father and i realized that wouldn't work, so could you please help me find the right colors for her parents or do you think the colors that i picked were okay?  sorry don't have link to picture...

One quick question, the t and + genes, when determining color should we treat those as a separate gene, or as though they'll be inherited with that particular copy of the A gene?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to LibertyBelle [2014-03-28 08:58:39 +0000 UTC]

I have a quick question for you is this possible nCr X nCr = CrCr ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to knowitall123 [2014-03-18 17:39:31 +0000 UTC]

Yep, that's right! For example, there's a 25% chance that a Palomino (ee/aa/nCr) x Palomino (ee/aa/nCr) = Cremello (ee/aa/CrCr)! Why do you ask?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

knowitall123 In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-03-18 17:47:03 +0000 UTC]

could you also tell me what I could get when breeding a pair with A+A and Ata since that surpasses all my knowledge of horse genetics

Tigglesaurus In reply to knowitall123 [2014-03-18 18:09:08 +0000 UTC]

Just throw me the potential parent's profiles, it's easier that way, cuz it all depends what the rest of their genes are depending on that those ones do to it ^_^

They can't have any fawn marks so they'd all be solid colours but if you decide on one of those let me know and I'll give you the genotype for them Will you be playing the fawn? I assume you've already spoken to purpleshadowbooster Since Dru's the prospective daddy, would you mind if I designed the fawn once you've picked a colour? I love designing babies

We decided we`d try to get twins and if we mange to get them I wouldn`t mind if you designed my fawn not sure about purple tho

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to knowitall123 [2014-03-19 15:26:31 +0000 UTC]

Alrighty! But just to make sure you and purpleshadowbooster  are aware, there's a huge risk to the doe and fawns when having twins. We only allow two sets of twins each season, so you'd have to be one of the first to request them.  There's a 10% for each fawn being stillborn, and a greater than 10% chance that the doe might die or become infertile during the birth. Last season a doe did die from having twins, and both fawns barely survived. The other doe who has twins is now infertile, but luckily her fawns were born weak but not permanently so.

If that hasn't put you off yet, and you want to risk it, purpleshadowbooster  is welcome to request twins when rut comes around but just be warned, it might not be a good idea

knowitall123 In reply to Tigglesaurus [2014-03-19 15:34:15 +0000 UTC]

we already discussed it and she said she wanted to risk it ,and that it opens a lot of plot ideas (getting on the Glenmore drama llama ride XD)

Tigglesaurus In reply to knowitall123 [2014-03-19 16:40:41 +0000 UTC]

Alrighty then! In that case, I'll get the breeding proof up on the 1st if I can, and then purpleshadowbooster can send in the breeding note request
