Please oh please post a tutorial for all of your fans! haha. You don't have to give away all of your secrets, but I would love even a rundown of how something like this is made. Do you take progressive photos of your work? If not, you absolutely should

I made a diary cover and didn't really comprehend the work that goes into it until I did it. The clay conditioning, the rolling the pressing, the cutting... it was endless.
I used Kato sheets for the designs, and pigment for colour, but after all that work, it didn't look like something that someone would appreciate, so I really can appreciate how much work and detail in your cover. Kudos

Thank you very much, yes, it takes so much time and effort doesn't it? People don't get why I have to charge so much for my work... they expect to buy things like they are mass produced instead of the hundreds of hours it takes to make things from scratch.

Very close, they are fossil ammonites, they were actually squid like animals that filled the seas millions of years ago

I know Their fossils are considered sacred upon some civilizations. They sometimes can have beautiful crystal fossils.

I think you mean Ammonites (Ammonoidea) instead of Nautiloids (Nautiloidea) ?

Leptospyrra In reply to Kudbuloken [2011-01-10 14:47:13 +0000 UTC]
Both, because and Nautilidea also is left with recent 6 species in Indian ocean, and ammonites are all fossil species. But Nautilidea was first to fall upon my mind at that moment xD
