A seemingly still-young mare stood in front of the large rift, the light from the crack seeping through and erasing whatever it could reach from existing. Equestria was in danger, but with the Elements of Harmony gone and Canterlot within reach of the rift, she was supposed to be the one who would close it - Even if she was the same one to create it.

The air smelled of smoke, and the sky was in chaos. It was an eclipse, but the Lunar Princess had not ordered the moon to take its place. She was dead - So was her sister - In the midst of fire and ash. Discord was gone, yet he had no part in such destruction. All because of the mare. All because of her.

"This is what you wanted, wasn't it?" Asked a grey pegasus stallion at her side, his brown eyes looking up at the crack, face stern and eyes seemingly empty.

"I wanted the Doctor dead," the green-eyed unicorn hissed. "I didn't mean any of this."

"You knew the consequences," he replied with a cold tone. "That's all part of being a Time Lord - You see every possibility of altering time, the future and the past, all that ever was and will be." Time Vortex looked down at her. "But now, because of you, there won't be a future.'"

"Okay! Yes! I'm insane and crazy and an idiot!" Shattered Rift yelled, staring into his eyes. "What does it matter anyways?! I can't reverse what I've done! What about you?!"

"What about me?! You don't think I would have done everything in my power to stop Equestria from being destroyed?!"

This was new to Shattered Rift - She'd never seen him angry. This scared her. "I-"

"You think this is easy? I lost my best friend to you!" His wings were raised in rage now. "Clockgear was kind and caring and beautiful, and she would at least try! Sure, the Doctor left you both. Sure, you both had a horrible life. Sure, you practically are her, but you two are nothing alike! She ran towards the fight, but all you do it run from it. You coward."

He did care. He really did care. Not about Shattered Rift herself - No, he cared about Clockgear.

"......... You love her."

The pegasus' eyes softened as he reached out to touch her cheek gently. Everything seemed so much more distant. The fire didn't matter. The clouded sky didn't matter. The rift didn't matter.

The gap between the two disappeared with a soft kiss.

"Yes, I do," Time Vortex answered, pulling away and looking down. "Now please, let her out. Not for Equestria, not for me, but for her."

Her eyes were still closed as she spoke crystal clear words. "Don't worry," she said quietly, her horn now aglow with a golden aura magic. "She heard you loud and clear." She took her final glance at Time Vortex with blue eyes. "Clockgear loves you too."

AN's: BTW, SR used CG's Time Magic to create a rift in time and space, and, at the end, that's her returning back to normal.
