True, but I think there's something about the creation of a space marine that means only males can survive the process. What the hell though? If it makes for an interesting story - do it!

And on the Female Commisar... Anything can happen for whatever reason it does. The Imperium is too large to keep track of everything.
I know of a Space Marine chapter that uses Female Space Marines.

A Female Comissar is much more likely than a Female Space Marine because a Space Marine is artificially made. While a comissar is a normal human that works their way up through the ranks.

You wouldn't be able to get female space marines through the same methods are regular marines. Some of the implants would be rejected by women.
There are still genetically modified women though, such as the Sisters of Silence from the pre-heresy background.
Female commisars are no problem. Planets like Cadia allow women to serve in the same roles as men (although there are no female cadian models).
