Another in the Astonishing X-men line up.Beast... heres a character that i have loved forever. i mean, who rolls around bad guys on their feet!? and i love the fact that he hangs from the ceiling and reads philosophy.
i think i am out of the loop because i have no idea why he is suddenly this Cat creature but i think i like it. i am not 100% on that but its growing on me. plus his new costume is the best one he's had. but unfortunately it's not shown here.....ENJOY!

The face is astounding, I love the sheer detail in the head and the lack of any definition in the body. The shape of the head and the yellow eyes make him very lion-like. I'd give him a huge hug if I could but he's probably punch me into next week!

nice work on the colours, diggin the whole 'random lines which somehow work perfectly together' not quite sure why it doesn't end up a terrible mess, but i'm glad it doesn't...

I'm just getting back into the X-Men with Whedon & Cassady's new Astonishing X-Men series, but I know that I like this new, more felid, look, as well as the additional emphasis given to Hank's inner demons & dualistic nature.

Oh! I love Beast! He's always been my favorite X-man, and this is a awesome portrayal of him, good details, his signature 'thoughtful look', and the shadowing and color choise really makes me wonder what it is he's considering.

i love the way beast changed his face to becoming more like a cat or some sort of k9. i like the simplicity in this piece. i like your work cause i always admired people who drew comic characters but didnt do the same shit. keep it up ide like to see more.

I hated his secondary mutation, at first, but it..grew on me, once I understood it.
Basically..
In Spain they came into conflict with the country's own Guardia Civil and also a man known as Vargas, (who killed Psylocke,) seriously wounded Beast. Hank was only saved when Sage jumpstarted his latent healing abilities, which also foreshadowed a further mutation. Beastβs injuries forced him to return to the mansion, as Storm considered him a security risk for the rest of her team.
Due to this jump-start, not long after returning to Westchester, Beast experienced a regressive mutation that transformed him from ape-like to cat-like. His new body was much larger and possessed greater senses and predatory instincts. He needed some time to adjust to his altered state but, at the same time, began working with the new students at the Xavier Institute to help them fulfill their potential.
Trish Tilby could not deal with Hankβs further mutation, however; she feared for her career and broke off her relationship with Hank over the phone. To add injury to insult, Hank was then beaten into a coma by Cassandra Nova, a malevolent entity who had possessed Xavier's body and forced a student named Beak to pummel McCoy with a titanium baseball bat.

I think it's an awesome idea to crop them from the shoulders up in a wide frame - a very unique composition for character studies. It grabs your attention ^^.
I especially like beats though, I think his pose is very telling even though very little of him is showing - with his head high and shoulders slanting it's as if he's sensed something, studying his surroundings, you know? Plus the lion angle you too to his face gives him an awesome noble air.
