The movie was based on the anime. but it was bad transferring! the visual was good!

I watched the first episode of the anime last night and it's interesting but I don't see myself watching any more episodes in the future. I like the character but the other character designs don't fit with his. I know it's remade from an older cartoon.
But why the name Casshern? Did the person who thought of it think it was a cool name or does it mean something in japanese?
