FINALLY...this took me. SO LONG. Particularly because a lot of these were so detailed that I had to take a lot of time to thoroughly detail them all. For most of the time, I wasn't worried about making them bear much a resemblance to the old Archeops. Here's a few notes to read, an FAQ of questions that haven't been asked yet.

- I had plenty of help with the paleontology, so I give credit to for being an amazing help.

- The purebreed is a Jeholornis Variation, and NOT an Archaeopteryx, because their tail anatomy was far similar. And plus, the Archaeopteryx Variation would be something that is recognized as being smaller, better at flying, and overall more birdlike in behavior than theropod dinosaurs.

- No, almost none of these variations look alike to each other. Just like the Aerodactyl Variations sheet, ancient birds were also very diverse, probably very colorful, so that is acknowledged here.

Jeholornis (Purebreed) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in fern tree forests, and cliffsides. The default Archeops variation, and considered to be a progenitor to all true bird Pokemon of today. They were descended from small feathered theropod dinosaurs known as Dromaeosaurs. They followed their same practice of pack-hunting, and required a running start before being able to fly at all.

Epidexipteryx (Sigilyph) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in deserts and mountains. Their eggs were very brightly colored, and were laid in clusters on the mountainsides, or gathered in certain dunes. These Archeops flew above their eggs, watching them vigilantly, and waiting to chase away any predator that gets too close to them, with a vicious aptitude for Special Attack.

Confuciusornis (Swellow) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in dense forests and jungles. Their plumage did a surprisingly well job of disguising them in thick growths, although they kept their plumage clean to be able to fly with more efficiency. As a sign of affection, they groomed the plumages of other fellow Archeops. They were omnivorous, although prefer fruits, nuts and seeds to meat.

Archaeopteryx (Pidgeot) - An Archeops variation that dwelled at the edges of forests, or nearby ocean coasts. They are considered one of the first true birds to exist, being able to attain true flight, hunt for fish or small animals like today's modern birds of prey, and were able to keep their numbers stable by migrating for the winter. This was something even the Jeholornis variation couldn't do to survive.

Alvarezsaurus (Dodrio) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in deserts and oases. They were exceptionally fast runners, and had the senses and know-how to detect and avoid other bigger predators. They mainly preyed on small animals, mostly burrowers, although they seem to be especially partial to fish, which are a rare treat for them considering their rarity within their natural habitat. They occasionally grew three heads.

Dakotaraptor (Braviary) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in open plains and tundras. They were more tolerant to cold weather, and so were able to fill a wider niche. Coupled with their fast running speed, immense size of 6 ft tall, and 18 ft long, they are one of the largest Archeops variations to ever exist, and arguably, one of the most successful, able to compete with the likes of Tyrantrum.

Anchiornis (Staraptor) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in forests and open fields. Despite being smaller than most other Archeops variations, they were among the most savage predators of their time. Their strength was such that they could challenge other Pokemon larger than themselves, and have been known to carry off small prey. They even organized flocks to steal kills from much larger predators.

Sinosauropteryx (Talonflame) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in tropical regions and open plains. While they are considerably bigger than most Archeops, flightless and solitary, they are shockingly fast runners, able to chase down prey items on foot. Their real strength came from the fact that when choosing their moves right, they got to attack first almost every time, and subdue prey while they were still defenseless.

Unenlagia (Fearow) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in swamps and near lakes. They are indeed related in some way to the Alvarezsaurus variation, but were far divided by habitat, leading to each having their own dietary habits. This variation in particular was evolved as a wader and a pursuit predator, not being able to take on prey that fight back, but being able to chase down and pin down fast or slippery prey items.

Changyuraptor (Unfezant) - An Archeops variation that dwelled in open fields and cold plains. They were quite average in ability and diet as far as Archeops go. However, they are most notable for their social life. They are solitary for most of the season, until Lekking Season begins, where they begin courtship dances of up to 200 members strong. The male with the brightest and cleanest plumage gains the right to mate.
