ah, was it expensive to cut the IR filter on the G2?

costed me cutting the 2 plastic IR filters that I've put inside, although I can still use them with not-so-wide angles

if you're looking for general info about IR photography, here's a competent site [link]
If you ask about processing, it's mainly hue shifts and contrast adjustments that make for the effect here

This is beautiful. The land almost looks like it's been set down to float on the water.

Lusting for one......

Btw, sorry for the disturbance, does IR sensitivity still matter when the camera is modded?

Like D70/s and D200, or even D80...when I mod them...do they produce similar results, or D70 still the best?

tisbone In reply to lxrichbirdsf [2007-02-05 21:04:27 +0000 UTC]

they're very similar for sure.. I guess different makes of cameras could produce different colour schemes, depending on the hot mirror tint and image processors.. but you almost always change the colours anyway, so it shouldn't matter.
as for sensitivity, all sensors are alike, it's just the hot mirror that makes a difference and that's what you get rid of

Ok...thanks...I was just wondering since the mod removes the hot mirror...
