HEEEEY!!!!....it's my SECOND digital pic....and it took me 25% quicker than the last one!....the only flaw here is the white-ish border line that makes my precious Starfire looks as if she was a cardboard cutout....><...if anyone know how, please tell me how can I make my coloring fits perfectly without having to go for the trouble of pixling it in...Anyway...^^ tell me what you think about it....

All you guys think that. She's perfect as she is. And your a thousand times better than I am.
I know I kind of have the same mindset when I'm writing chapters of my X High School story. Because I know (or at least think) I can do better. The problem with being an artist/author is that we're always being too hard on ourselves when others see our work perfect the way it is. Dont be so hard on yourself dude.

How cute! Bet Robin would love to have this in his Easter Basket. XP
Hmm...
I'm not sure exactly what the white line thing does, but when I scan something in, I make the background transparent by first opening up the channels window (Window => Channels). At the bottom of the channels window (if you have Photoshop CS, that is, I don't know how it works with other versions), there should be an icon that looks like a dotted circle. (When you hover your mouse over it, it should say "Load Channel as Selection".) Click on that, and the black parts of your lineart (the actual lines) should be outlined. Press backspace and there you have it! Transparent background. I think that should take care of your white pixel issue.
If it's not a lineart issue though, it could be the coloring. What I find most helpful for coloring is using the Polygon Lasso tool, especially for flats. I "lasso" the area, (on a layer underneath the lineart) then just fill it in with color. (Shift + F5.) For shading and highlighting, I do the same thing; lasso it and fill it with the darker color, though if there's no shading line, it comes out a little jagged. I take care of that with the Smudge tool, though Blur might work as well.
Hope it helps!

.....O__O....I'm sorry...thanks anyway, but I'm using GIMP...and...I have no idea about everything you just said...

soraoathkeeper In reply to TitansAnonymous [2006-11-19 20:01:00 +0000 UTC]
Well...that would explain it. XD 'Cause I don't know what GIMP is either.
If you'd like though, I could probably try to get rid of the white spots by cleaning up your lineart. Just a suggestion. XP

Well...I've tried...I even used the one pixel line!!...but apparently the color seems somewhat uneager to merge with the lines...
