Hmm...the pencilling, though it looks very cool on a single drawing or a simple composition, makes big group pictures look messy and it's hard to see details...

It's one of the greatest weakness of pencils....but I figured a way...I just draw them shadeless, then color them....

Black and white is nice. Have you tried experimenting with inks at all? I've heard the phrase, 'inking a sketch'...mean anything to you? In theory it makes sense to me, but...well, as I've said, I'm only learning. I have all the theory in the world--read a dozen books on drawing. It's nothing like experience though, actually drawing...eheh.^^

...too risky I think....and I treat my drawings like gold....I'm planning on moving straight to digital.....and you know, I never read any book on drawing whatsoever...I just practice....I think "commitment" is the key to everything...don't you think?

Just one, actually. I just came up with her recently--she doesn't have a name yet, and I'm working on preventing her from turning into a Mary-Sue...Have I mentioned I am a hardcore fanfic-reader? And writer? Yeah, that's my real forte. Art is...something I'm working on. Fanart, etc. ^^ But she's got what I think are original powers/skills etc. I'm working on it.^^ I don't know what she looks like yet either...^^

they're not really OC...mine is a bounty hunter living in a carnival world filled with homicidal clowns....The Halloworld....his name is Hood, Cedric Hood....and other characters in my own fanfic..(check my gallery, you'll find it..^^ I'm not that good in writing, but everyone loves it..)

I would be happy too! In exchange for some drawing lessons...*wink wink* I'm honestly not bragging when I say I can write...I have put some decent fics out, and I know much. Just from reading so much and...well, I've taken one or two class-type things and I have alot of outside influence--One of my teachers is a novelist. I just don't want you to think I'm making it up or being show-offy...I'm going for realistic but it seems I've just journeyed over into babbling...

...relax...I enjoyed it...^^...and it's great to have someone to guide you and stuff...unlike me...>< I only have my imagination....sometime I wished I can have a class in drawing or a lesson at least....BUT NO!!!...I have to learn the hard way...and it took me 4 YEARS!!!...I wonder how good I am now if I ever had class from REAL cartoonist!!!

I'm taking a class taught by a real cartoonist now! Andy Fish--he writes graphic novels and worked for Marvel and DC Comics and stuff. He's a fun guy and I'm learning lots about how to publish a graphic novel and how to ink and create and about all sorts of different styles...plus, I get to play with all the fancy stuff that I can't afford--inks and colors and special paper and great stuff like that.^^ You're a great artist and you did it all by yourself. And you can only get better, right? *optimist* Michelangelo never had a teacher! He just took apart dead bodies to find out how them moved...Erm...I think.

Yeah, you've mentioned that Wesley/Batman dedication/lack of sleep before. They say that if you work for just a half-hour a day, in three months you'll have improved. I don't know how true that is yet, but I plan to try it. Or at least I'll make sure to draw some each day. Wish me luck! ^^

My drawing before I started actively going at it was...eh. Typical. I didn't know what I was doing. Then I stopped (too busy, I think) for a while and then I started up again at the beginning of the summer. I am satisfied with some things that I draw...but it still feels like I spend more time erasing. >< My theory was that if I just doodled and practiced and tried enough, eventually I'd get better. It's working so far, slowly but surely.^^
