Description
I just finsihed a very good book called "A Redbird Christmas" by Fannie Flagg. The book was the start of my inspiration. Then, when i went to the Kansas City Zoo and saw all these Redbirds on Holly Berry trees, i really felt I had to paint a redbird. Also, I haven't done anything realistic in awhile, or acrylic for that matter! Anyway, here's my redbird!Related content

I usualy roam Deviantart with my eye set to look at photography, waiting to be surprised by an angle or subject, or light. But I was really missing on some great drawings and paintings! The minute I saw your works I immediately loved them. They have the candure that filled my childhood imaginary. But through this one I realised you have some good skills to draw wildlife. I'm a biologist and I love to see good real-like drawings of animals. I'm also very fond of birds. This species we don't have here in Europe but I know it well and actually have some porcelain models of them. You draw it so well!
A
, oh yes indeed.

Thank you. I am glad you like the background. That was probably the hardest part for me to paint. Thanks for commenting!

I agree, you are really good with acrylics! The contrast of red and blue is really nice - very wintery

Thanks nell, I am glad you like it. I don't normally do a lot in acrylics, they generally dry too fast for me. But oil dries too slow, so I can't seem to win. But every once in awhile I get the urge to do acrylic. It's a rare occasion though! Have a good New Year!
