Hello, SimbaWhat if Simba decided not to return to the pridelands when Nala found him? What if he returned too late?
I always love doing what if scenarios with Scar, so I thought I could do one for the current contest on
In this one, Scar remains as the greedy king of the pridelands, bringing darkness and despair to the kingdom. He takes Nala as queen (maybe after her return from the oasis) with whom he has an heiress that will ensure the continuity of his reign. Nala, highly resentful with both Simba and Scar, loses all hope and eventually becomes evil.

Here's another "What if" idea. Simba has a younger brother, whom Scar brings under his wing by telling him that Simba will always get more respect due to being the king, slowly leading Simba's brother into the dark side.

I play "What if" with these guys all the time lately. My favourite is: What if Mufasa's death really was an accident but Simba still ran away from guilt? What if Scar sent his 3 best friends to bring him back home but the hyenas accidentally scared him away instead?
What if Scar really was a GOOD "King-Regent" because he always believed that Simba would return to claim his throne? What if he kept the Hyenas in check & the first "Pride-Clan" was a success? Though many of the adult lions & hyenas are still "uncomfortable" in close quarters, the young adults & adolescents are curious which leads to making friends. While the young of both species don't remember a time when they lived any other way & so they are completely at ease with one another. What if theΒ drought was just nature & not over-hunting the herds? (Which makes more sense since the 2 predator species have always "shared" the same "hunting grounds"). What if Nala was still looking for food when she ran into Simba? What if she returned with the news of Simba's survival & armed with the revolutionary information that Lions could survive (& even thrive) on insects, so the Pridelanders could hold out until the rains came? What if Scar sent his 3 childhood friends to go lead Simba home because they wished to undo their failure to bring him back last time. What if Simba comes home to help them find bugs because he's the only one who knows where to find the number of bugs that a whole pride would need & it's not in the "Pridelands"? What if he plans to take the most vulnerable lions (he doesn't know about the hyenas) into his jungle for better bug-hunting? Basically WHAT IF the "Happily ever after" includes King Scar, Queen Zira, Dowager Queen Sarabi, Crown-Prince Simba & Princess Nala? Please no one publish my ideas as their own but if someone wanted to make art for me on the subject I'd love that. I think Scar lost his Lion Guard when he took the throne (The Great Kings won't let one lion have the 2 most powerful jobs at once). What if Kion's Lion Guard being "inter-species" wasn't such a huge thing but "The Leader of the Lion Guard: Prince Kion" falling in love with "Crown-Princess Jasiri: Heir to Shenzi the Chief-Queen of the Pride-Rock Hyena Clan" is a huge scandal? Got pretty side-tracked there. You made something beautiful & I'm going to reference it in the stories only I see, I would ask permission were I to planning to publish your art in any way.
