Hello, SimbaWhat if Simba decided not to return to the pridelands when Nala found him? What if he returned too late?
I always love doing what if scenarios with Scar, so I thought I could do one for the current contest on
In this one, Scar remains as the greedy king of the pridelands, bringing darkness and despair to the kingdom. He takes Nala as queen (maybe after her return from the oasis) with whom he has an heiress that will ensure the continuity of his reign. Nala, highly resentful with both Simba and Scar, loses all hope and eventually becomes evil.

actually, that's pretty logical. In the The Lion King Play Scar asks Nala to be his queen but she rejected. maybe after discovering that Simba is not coming she decides to go with the new life's rules and accept scar? your scenario is very interesting

That's what I'm taking from it.
And I think looking at all the scar fanart has inspired my cat to run with his claws unsheathed.Β I was playing with the little bloke and he got me between my toes while he ran by.

Great picture, I love the idea of Simba coming back too late.. The drama in this picture is just amazing! That idea would make a great comic

I have different interpretation: Simba refuses to come back to Pridelands.Β Nala has to come back with nothing. She's so resentful towards Simba that she takes Scar's offer to become his queen.
However, things become even worse - prey animals are few, there is a drought and etc. So Scar and Nala teams upΒ to discipline hyenas but *the twist!* there is no need in thatΒ - hyenas themselves saw what their unreasonable behaviour did. Now they have to team up with lionesses to hunt. Slowly but both sides start to see each other as "people".Β Scar with some help from Nala (who in the end grew to love him)Β becomes better ruler. Pridelands get restored bit by bit.
Simba comes back but he's back too late - Scar IS a rightful king and Nala is his Queen. Even more -Β they have cubs (plural, that is). The eldest cub (female we see here) will be a queen in the future.

the darkness endings are always giving me sinister feelings in my spine i guess cold lol im bad at explaining either way awesome art

I always found the movie a lack of creativity. In every aspect. And I always thought Nala has a lack of personality. And Kiara was annoying. Also, it's dumb how outlanders always have that same kind of nose while their pelts are darker and then the pridelanders are lighter and have their round, fluffy noses with only Scar as an exception.
Also, it was senseless how everyone was waiting on Simba. Come on. He barely did anything. All he did was mess up a few hyenas and an old, thin lion. The lionesses could've pretty much solved the whole thing. A lion wouldn't make a single difference.
But yeah, I'd prefer it if Scar ruled and Simba died or stayed in the jungle like the scared kitty he was.

Usually the Male lion or the King would have more power. Maybe that's why the lionesses couldn't do anything about it. And if Scar still ruled, the Pridelands would still be a wasteland! They thought he was dead and feared all hope would be lost since the hyenas roamed so freely. You just don't see it and you just don't get it. -_-lll'
