Love the shading!!! Beautiful, and well composed. I like the focus too.

Thanks! I actually wasn't fully happy about the focus. I'm still learning about layer masks in GIMP.

Oh really? Cool! I hope the learning goes well for you! I'm used to (and certified in) Photoshop, so in terms of using layer masks, I can't necessarily help you too much, sorry about that. It's still a good photo nonetheless

I'm used to Photoshop as well, which is why I'm having a bit of trouble in adjusting to GIMP. Out of curiosity, what does the certification imply?

I was able to get Photoshop certified through a class I took, so in terms of applying for a graphic designer type job (which I want to do in the near future), it looks good on a resume and give me more credibility, haha. Yeah that's understandable now, I didn't know you had used Photoshop before, sorry. I know some people who have used GIMP but not Photoshop - I've never actually used GIMP though.

That sounds neat. I doubt my class was advanced enough to warrant certification, but it would be fun to go for that in the future.
GIMP is nice. The user interface and shortcuts are more easily configurable that Photoshop's are, but it doesn't have quite as many filters built in.

Ahhhhh, ok! Maybe I should try it sometime just for fun. Awesome!
If you do end up getting Photoshop certified, I believe that it doesn't expire. Rather, it'd become obsolete when Adobe eventually releases a CS10 version or something like that. It's still worth it though - most features carry through, some are just upgraded, few are added.
