Recently got a copy of the Art of Jon Foster so suddenly I had to try painting clouds like him. And also met Yoshitaka Amano in New York recently so the character started to look like his too.sad haha

This reminds me a lot of Amano's work, I am envious that you met him, my favorite artist. It reminds me a lot of the vivid concept art for FF 5 and 6. The character in your drawing also looks a lot like a drow elf. Beautiful.

hey, thanks for the name drop! checked out foster's web page and the guy is most certainly one awesome fellow. you can see the influence he's had on you with the setting and you've certainly caught the epic nature of his clouds but the style is very much still your own.
i love how strained the figure's upper body is; there's a real tension in those arms also, the very unique texture helps amplify the sense of speed. you manage to give the digital paint a thick, oily look with those scraping lines which only add to the idea of motion.
the only nitpick with this is the way the material around his middle furls out. don't you think it should be streaming out in a more upwards fashion due to his momentum?

Amano is a personal favorite, not to familiar with Jon Foster but I know he can make some great clouds ... These artist styles combined with your talents ... well that just opens up new doors of interest so awesome it is almost sickening.
As always, your brush is right up there with Ashley Wood when it comes too just straight up cool art.
