When I heard Jerry Nelson had died, I had to draw something for him as a tribute. I'm not very good at backgrounds, but I gave it my best shot. I drew this today while listening to Jerry Nelson sing all day. I'd like to say THANK YOU to Muppet Central Radio for their musical tribute to him. Brought back many memories of all the songs I use to hear him sing that I hadn't heard in ages. I've laughed and cried all day long, thanks Jerry for the memories.For the picture, Gobo had gotten a postcard from his Uncle Traveling Matt (see note in jacket pocket) that delivered to him the terrible news. So here he is, crying his dear little Fraggle heart out over the lose of his very close friend at his graveside.
Thanks Jerry for all the wonderful memories you leave behind for us to share for generations to come. You will be greatly missed!

Very sad, ive read the news yesterday, and when i was younger waiting for the bud, i would watch the ount do the number of the day with his piano.

Yeah, I remember Count Von Count teaching me to count in the late 70s/early 80s.
After all these years, I still always liked to see him doing the count and in his last few years doing the voice, it will be missed. Whoever takes over doing the Count voice, has some very BIG shoes to fill, I wish them luck. Unless Sesame Street decides to retire Count after the 43rd season that airs soon with Jerry's voice doing him one last time.

His postcard, it is pretty hard to read it unless you're able to see the big drawing, so what it says is,
"Dear Nephew Gobo,
I hate to have to tell you this, but I learned that our good friend Jerry Nelson passed away August 23rd, 2012.

This is a really sweet tribute. The colors seem so uplifting somehow, it really bring a since of sweet with the bitterness of loss.
