Check out Anthony's really sweet pencils here: [link]

Done as part of a submission pack, but tbh I was just looking for an excuse to work over Ant's lines again, I LOVE the way he uses texture - it's a real pleasure to ink!

Very impressive. I liked so much Northlanders. I wish i could do your job; I think working with pencils, inks and creating images in general is very satisfying!

Hey man! Thanks, I have been looking back at this as well recently and thinking it wasn't too bad either - though I did have some kick ass pencils to work with!

Other than that, I'm ok - Christmas is rolling around and taking it's toll, and my design work is cranking up so I've taken a step back from comics to just reassess my goals a bit. How's all at your end? I saw the latest Superman cover you'd posted up -- looking really sweet!

Thanks dude! I'm glad to hear that you are busy! That's always a positive. Busy on this side as well, with working at the school and all. Tons of samples as usual and just pitched a project so here's hoping that something good comes of it. Do you not want to do comic work anymore?

Ha ha, cheers duuude! Had so much fun inking this, once again musta got to use every trick in the book for creating all the textures

How's tricks at your end anyhow man? Anything DANGEROUSLY exciting to report on?

I always find myself thinking I need to compile every single technique I use & learn & organize them just to see what I know. Also, it'd be a keen flip-book in case I get stuck on something & I can screen thru options.

Dangerously exciting? Hmmmmm... not so much. I just finished inks on Hulk vs. Dracula #1, so 2 issues to go for that series. There's a killer spread coming up of the Hulk fighting monsters...

That sounds like an exciting gig! Although I'm sure to be fair anything featuring the Hulk has got to be good fun to ink

A reference sheet of techniques isn't a bad idea actually, maybe with notes on texture creation and tools used etc. Hmm.. might have a crack at one myself - will let ya know how I get on!

I inked some of his stuff a couple years ago, when I was REALLY terrible. It was tough, but I learned a lot! He's a cool guy!

wow! Awesome inks man! What are you using for the feather lines and motion lines?
It's awesome!
I have much to learn!
Check out my inks if you have a chance!

TomParrish In reply to chlsmok [2011-07-15 13:24:49 +0000 UTC]

Cheers dude! The motion lines are all brush pulls, done with either a #2 or #3 brush. For the wind effects, I dry-brushed white gouache over the final inks (find it works waaaay better than standard White Out/White Ink) to get that nice rough texture. Please feel free if ya've got any other questions or queries etc to ping me and I'll do my best to answer them! :-D Heading over to your gallery now bud
