Description
Ensign Pavel Chekov!!!!I'll admit that this is my most "Animated" look of all the Classic Trek characters (Uhura as well).
I mostly based him on his first appearance in the TOS episode "CATSPAW" with his Davey Jones hair do.
If I had to write for him I wouldn't make him as the annoying sense of humor, screaming pansy over-the-top Russian. I would almost portray him like Harry Kim.
*note I know that Ensigns in TOS had no Stripes but since Archer's and TNG's Ensigns had rank pins, SCREW it!!! Chekov gets stripes!!!!

What I really like is your update to the original uniform designs something the new JJ movies didn't give in my opinion much consideration.

Agreed.
There was an OVERWHELMING amount of things that I disliked about the JJ films. Both in Trek, Originality, Creativity and over-all sensibility.
Something that I find that Abrams and his "Creative" Crew totally lack.

Have you seen Andy Bray as Chekov inΒ Star Trek Phase 2 ?

Sorry for the late reply.
I've only seen one or two Phase 2 episodes on youtube. I give the creators props for the production they put into it.
As far as acting goes, I'm afraid I'm one of these "old" people who just can't see any actor other than the original playing that particular character.
My rational: James Bond or Batman can be played by multiple actors over a period of time. Indiana Jones and the original cast of Star Trek: OFF LIMITS!!!!

Thank you! Like I said: Archer & Picard's era had rank pins. I think Kirk's TMP era had an ensign's rank pin.(if you count "Mr.Scott's Guide to the Enterprise" as partial cannon) So I gave Chekov stripes. Not quite the JG LT. stripes. Just half of it.

Aha, Chekov! Love the look!
I was always so fond of Chekov...especially for that awesome accent of his! But I definately agree, too much girly screaming and "Russia" stuff.
I, as well, would have probably played him more like Harry Kim from Voyager. Nice job, though! Really nice!

Yep...the bright-eyed, bushy-tailed young ensign fresh out of the Academy! He always seems to get himself into trouble.

I have no idea who this is (I was always more of a TNG guy, and even that I was just a casual fan of), but he looks very cool.

Chekov was a TOS character who first appeared in Season 2 of Star Trek as an answer to the allegedly complaing Russians who were vocal about there not being any russians on the ship. (At least according to Gene Rodenberry).
He was also an answer to Davey Jones of the Monkees since he wasa teen heartthrob of the day, and Rodenberry wanted to attract the young female viewers. In his first appearance in "Catspaw" he almost looked like Davey Jones!
His character was a little bit annoying after his first appearance. He had this "Russians invented/discovered this and that" complex which often proved to be fales. He tended to scream......A LOT! One such time actually sparred him from catching the Old Age virus that Kirk and company once caught. He also had a way with the ladies. Which dispells the myth that Kirk always got the ladies!
I could go on.....but I wont.
Thanks for the comments though.

Yeah and If these Characters went to "The Wrath of Khan" or at least a re-interpretation of that all time classic, it wouldn't be Chekov getting Ceti Eels in his ears with Capt. Terrell, Maybe the Annoying Kevin Riley or Mr. Bailey!!!!

Yes. This Chekov definitely looks like he could theoretically kick some ass. I don't mind him being a bit goofy on occasion (all dour would be flat and boring), but he kinda did have a girly scream. No girly screams.

Oh No Not Dour and brooding. The part of his sense of humor I would cut was his "It was invented/Discovered in Russia" bit.
What I meant in making him like Harry Kim was how Harry was before that Damn Caaretaker kidnapped/stranded him in the Delta Quadrant.
He would definitely look up to Kirk and Spock and have a slight antagonistic/friendship with Sulu.
