Description
Something a little different from the usual style. The original OT3, drawn in celebration of my reading De's biography.Coloured in whilst watching a Boston Legal second season marathon, which is to say, coloured in between bouts of rolling around laughing or cooing at the screen.
Seriously, writers? Seriously? Denny and Alan go to a Canadian shack? And Alan wakes up in Denny's bed? And they cuddle?!
Oh, man, and I thought Trek was the epitome of slash. Mr Shatner, I tip my hat to you, sir.
(Irrelevant comment is irrelevant.)

I thought NOTHING was gayer than Star Trek, and then I saw Boston Legal. It blew my mind.
McCoy would be my favorite here, I just love the way he looks for some reason. xD Was this based off a screen shot?

It was. I found an old scan of a clipping somewhere. Don't ask me where though. :/
Boston Legal is the Gayest of the Gay and I love it to bits.

Favorited! Nearly as much for the comment as the awesome art ^^
There's a reason why that episode has been called "Denny and Alan Go Ice-Fishing" (although, come to think about it, that reason will make very little sense to anybody not familiar with the concept of a "rude person" story)...

Man, I love that episode so much. Usually I'm okay with drawing while watching TV, but with that one, I was laughing so hard I had trouble holding on to my laptop.
It started with me and my girlfriend sort of incredulously looking at each other and going "are they really going to Denny's Canadian shack?!" and then it dissolved into helpless giggles.
I think I've found my favourite episode so far. Any show that delivers fanfiction tropes deserves a spot in my favourites list.

And they did not merely deliver fanfiction tropes- they delivered them so well, practically gift-wrapped in well-written, easily digestible pieces, via James Spader (who is wonderful) and the inimitable William Shatner himself.
Are you watching Boston Legal for the first time? *starry eyed* I was only introduced to the series this summer myself, and needless to say, it was MAGICAL.
(what you say about it being hard to draw while watching a Boston Legal episode is very true. The average number of Boston Legal episodes viewed per pieces of artwork completed probably exceeds the norm by at least 50 percent)

First time, yes. And seriously wondering why no one had alerted me about the sheer awesomeness of this show before. I'm loving every minute of it.
Spader and Shatner is just a magical combination. Do they do this kind of stuff more often then? Say Yes!

Some ungrateful whiners complained that the show got quite a bit crackier after season one, but not I (which is to say, yes, they are MAGICAL, and continue to be MAGICAL).
As a sort of aside: one of the things that I adore about Denny and Alan is that their interactions are rife with gags of all sorts, but the friendship itself never becomes one (a gag, that is).
Finally, and I urge you quite strongly: do whatever you must (jam your fingers in your ears and hum loudly, seriously) to prevent anyone from telling you anything less vague about your as-of-yet-unwatched Boston Legal episodes than how Denny and Alan are oh so magical- this is not a show you want to be spoiled for. Several of the plot twists are actually exciting (on a couple of occasions, I was moved to pause the episode and do a celebratory dance, so...).

I try not to get spoiled too much, I run into little things sometimes, but nothing major. *cough* Except the major spoiler for the last episode. I read THAT on Wikipedia and just about keeled over. I can't WAIT to see it. The knowledge that I have that final episode waiting for me is enough to fill me with happy glee.
but the friendship itself never becomes one (a gag, that is).
That's very well put. We were watching it yesterday, the episode where Alan pays the settlement for the homeless guy Denny shot in the head, you remember? God, I love their friendship.
And, well, because I'm a fangirl, I love the slash. Every time Alan grabs Denny's hand, I coo. He does it so sincerely. ^____^
Are you on LJ by any chance?

Oh my. That is quite a spoiler you've got there... *sheepishly* I too was spoiled for the ending, though I wish fervently I hadn't been, because if my jaw dropped when they went to Denny's Canadian shack, I don't even know WHAT I would have done had I not been spoiled for the series finale...
God, I love their friendship
THIS. They give me a warm and fuzzy feeling, actually.
And, well, because I'm a fangirl, I love the slash.
*nods along* that's good stuff.
Are you on LJ by any chance?
As a matter of fact I am (and with the same pseud, no less). ^^ I would have asked you the same, but you seem so established- I didn't want to behave like an impudent little upstart pipsqueak (I've only begun using my journal this summer, so sometimes I do sort of feel that way). Now that you mention it though, I'm always on the lookout for new friends. *cough* (might I look you up in lj-land?)

I think that's THE spoiler, really. Though for some reason I don't really mind knowing. I still haven't SEEN it, and I'm sure there's plenty of OTHER slashy moments between now and then to surprise me still.
*bops in her chair in antici-pation*
I'll friend you right away. You can add me back if you like. Just a word of warning that approximately 99.9% of my posts these days tend to be either Trek or Boston Legal related. I think William Shatner has invaded my brain and set up camp.

Sorry, it's taken me a while to get back to this- I've been moving into my dorm/getting settled into the semester at school...
ANYWAY. Yes, that is definitely THE spoiler. And no, I suppose that's not the most horrible thing in the world to learn prematurely... Sometimes I wonder what it must have been like for the people who didn't know it was coming, though- just like I wonder what the various revelations in the Original Star Wars Trilogy must have been like back when people were actually, you know, surprised by them...
(I'm afraid I'm babbling especially much tonight- I must beg your forbearance, for I didn't want your post to go unanswered any longer, but I am unfortunately most fatigued, and probably somewhat incoherent *sigh* ....and it's only midnight here- college makes lightweights of the best of us...)
Also, our interests are 100 percent compatible. *is reading William Shatner's biography in between chapters of assigned reading* One of my major talking points this week is Ways that JJ Abrams Could Have, but Neglected to, Included the Original Captain Kirk in ST XI (BUT NO HARD FEELINGS OR ANYTHING).

Oh, no worries. Are you settled in comfortably now?
Generally I tend to pick up vague rumours but not much more. Like for example when I started watching the Star Trek movies, I knew Spock would die in the second one, but then the third one had his name in the title so I assumed he'd, you know, almost die or something, because obviously they couldn't kill off a major character. Obviously!
When I got around to actually watching The Wratch of Khan, I sobbed my eyes out. I just couldn't believe it. And even when they were sending his casket out into space, I still couldn't really believe it. I was a mess by the time that movie ended, regardless of spoilers.
(And don't worry, I'm well used to babbling. Never apologise for that!)
Which biography are you reading? I've just finished "Get a Life!", and am chomping at the bits to get my hands on more. I was giggling like a maniac all through it, pointing and going 'hah, I do that!'. I need more now.
I assume you've read the earlier XI script with the Kirk Prime epilogue? Oh man, I read it and I loved it. To be fair, I loved everything about that script. It took me approximately four hours and twelve minutes thirty-five seconds to stop laughing.
Have you seen the panel from Dragon*Con? I just about died at the "So.. seen any good movies lately?" bit. XD
