Description I have been playing "Art Director" for a LARP my friends run. I decided that I would use this opportunity to call in some "big guns" and satisfy some old dreams of commissioning other artists I've admired. One in particular is Ron Spencer, who's artwork I've admired from his work in Werewolf: the Apocalypse in the 90s. I got a hold of him and was able to arrange some commission work from him. I've been very aware of Mr. Spencer's handiwork over the years and so I've tried to give him creatures or items that best suit his style. Too often I talk to artists who have others ask them to draw in someone else's style, or outside of their comfort zone, so I decided to hand-pick the topics to give to him.

What you see on the left is his "pencil sketch" based on descriptions that I gave him, and on the right is my coloring of the pieces. Originally they were going to be fairly simple sketches as if done by someone for a journal, but they've become more complex and detailed... which while not exactly what I'd originally intended, I'm certainly not disappointed by as they've become more detailed and awesome.

Living Vines are a generic "the plants are out to get us" type of creature.

Spider Goblins are a creature that the PCs have fought on a few occasions. They not only can catch people in their sticky webbing, but also spit a poison at their prey.

Doom Worms are giant creatures that can be found in caves, or in rare circumstances can also attack above-ground. They can be anywhere from the height of a man to larger than a double-decker bus and very long. Some folks initially conceived of them as being like the worms of "Dune", but I decided to make them look a little different.

Flesh Golems are constructs of dead bodies that have been created either through intelligent means, or through the chaotic powers of the world that seem to have no other purpose than to attack the living. Bodies of the recently fallen, as well as dug-up from graves are found among the forms that can exist.

Tsunotaur Raiders are a sub-group of the Tsunotaur race that comes from a land that has been stripped of all natural Essence, making it a wasteland far to the North and across the seas. Their Viking-inspired culture now goes across the seas to other lands to raid and burning and destroying what they don't take with them. When in their death-throes, these warriors become rampaging murder machines that only become more rage-filled until their berserking form can take no more and they finally drop.

All artwork here has been commissioned by me from Ron Spencer (on DA as fobiapharmer [link] ). I own them and I have been given approval by Ron Spencer to color these.

Living Vine, Spider Goblin, Doom Worm, Flesh Golems and Tsunotaur Raider are part of the Final Haven and Winter Haven LARP games.
