Description
So I was sitting around, wondering what I wanted to draw a few weeks ago. I really really wanted to draw brighter colors, and get more practice with anthro and I just didn't know what to do. So in comes along with a contest! AaaAa 600 WATCHERS OwO and WHAT DO YOU KNOW she's got an anthro character who is really light colored AND does magic. It was like the holy trinity of things I needed practice in SCORE! So I sketched it out and got something I really really liked and was ready to work with. I started off with the water, but then moved on to the background as I tried to get an idea of what I wanted to do. I wanted to make sure I had all the background colors in place BEFORE I even start on the fur because I needed to know where light it bouncing. I figured that a really bright sunny day, with very bright walls would really get the light bouncing EVERYWHERE so I would have no excuse to use dark colors. So I set about working on this beauty. With me working part time, every day I wasn't working I'd have to say I was spending about 4-6 hours on this and Jesus it has to be hands down the hardest picture I've ever drawn thus far. I've never been so mentally exhausted from working on art. At one point I was feeling completely burnt out, but persevered until the end. It was just so hard. Every single other pic I've drawn of anthro anything was using Photoshop brushes and mouse and this time around I was using Clip Studio and tablet, so I defaulted to my old style of drawing fur which is Flying . It takes so much time and energy and, although it looks great, really hurts the hand. I will definitely be doing more anthro in the future to try and figure out an easier way to do this because NEVER AGAIN I tell you.
All a massive learning experience though. I messed with so many brushes and looked up so many things and learned a TON. I know in the future this picture will have really helped me become a better artist and that's all I can really hope for

Fab furry hair - quite real. Same with curtains in backdrop. And lighting is neat too!

Oh the water looks so magical and sparkly! I really like how it seems to fold over itself, just such a cool effect. Additionally, the blue shading on the character really adds to the color scheme. I'm impressed by how quick you're improving in terms of shading! ^-^

Yes I'm quite proud of it took a while to get right.
Thank you! It's been quite the journey but it's fun even for me seeing myself improve.
