For some it's coffee, for some it's other things. For me it's time. Takes me about half an hour of being upright before I wake up properly LOL
It's going to be another very hot day today 39°C if you can cope with C temperatures. Over 100°F anyway. 100°F is 36.7°C I think. We have all our curtains shut to keep the house cool LOL

A big difference hee hee! It's so much easier speaking with a Canadian - you are influenced as much by the UK as we are here in Oz so we speak the same language and use the same spelling LOL And you even understand °C - wow!!! We call that Celcius but in the UK it's Centigrade - which do you use?

ToryHartley In reply to MayEbony [2011-12-29 17:37:17 +0000 UTC]
We also call it celcius here And yes a very big diffrence between your summers and are winters but the funny thing is that I'm in southren Ontario so to the rest of Canada are weather is kind or warm XD

I wasn't sure about that, thank you. I like to be multi-lingual - England, Australia, USA and Canada anyway. And a tiny bit of New Zealand LOL
People tell me stories of not going outdoors in Canada in winter with wet hair because it will snap off, and plugging their cars in at night. I just struggle to imagine it. I'm guessing you're too far south for those things?

Nope it all true, Your hair wont snap right off but I've had mine freeze up many time Its the worst brain freeze ever.
If the slush melts a little during the day and then freezes again over night you car can get stuck to the pavement. Normaly when this happens I end up walking to school in snow up to my thighs
or if it starts snowing a slushy snow over night then freezes it can make your car one big ice block

Oh, that's so interesting! We've received a few emails with photos showing cars with thick ice on them, yet the buildings nearby are clean and we thought it was computer trickery and did not believe them. Thanks to your explanation we can now understand that they were true.
I laughed at having a car sticking to the pavement - how funny! What we have to watch out for on a hot day if you've parked your car is to avoid the metal parts on the seatbelt - they're like a branding iron! The steering wheel too is too hot to hold. I keep cotton gloves in the car to wear if I need to.

I live in a very weird area of Canada, even though I live in the southren half of the country I also live by the great lakes, cold wind (and storms) come off the water and smack right into use. So all winter we are hit with freezzing weather but in the summer we are hit with heat waves >_< and because of the lakes it is so humid it is like walking through hot soup.

Oh goodness, I don't think I would like that at all. Is that the massive lakes where I've seen photos of ships in huge waves? Incredible to think that it's not out on the open ocean! I hate to be cold I really do.
Have you seen the TV show 'Murdoch'? That would be set around your area I guess. We loved that show and really hope they come back for another series. (I'm not asking where you live - please be vague if you answer.)

ToryHartley In reply to MayEbony [2012-01-02 18:39:02 +0000 UTC]
I would belive so, there is always big ships coming in from the ocean and The storms on the lakes can be very bad and always seem to come out of nowhere.
I've seen the show Its set in Toronto. I don't live very far from Toronto about an hour and a half. I've been there many times but I'm not a big fan of cities so I spend most my time in the country side.
Whats I've said dosen't sound very vague but if you think about it most the population of Canada live in Southren Ontairo and over half of them live withing 2 to 1 hour away from Toronto XD You also seem like a very nice person and I trust you not to do any harm with what little info I gave you. so no Worries.

I'm the same and dislike cities intensely. We're a 20 minute train ride from Perth city and, even though Perth is very small by most city standards, I go there about once every couple of years. If you use Google Maps and search for 'Perth, Western Australia' you will see how small an area it covers. Only Perth itself has the very tall buildings. Even by the time you get out to East Perth and Northbridge, just a few minutes easy walk, the buildings are much shorter and very few are actually above 5 floors.
The comments you make to me are visible by everyone though, so I didn't want you to say anything specific
We live in the suburbs with natural bush and parks close by and love this lifestyle.

Toronto is the largest city in Canada but compared to other citys in the world in not that large, There are many smaller citys were I live also. Like London which is a city but when your there it dosn't seem like it because it covers a larger area with much of the space filled in with parks and trees (thats why it nickednamed the city of trees. I don't mind London but that because it doesn't give the feeling of a city.
That is very true, I forgot we are not in privet messages but like I said it would be almost imposible to know where I like by the informantion I've give. Lol I could live almost anywhere in southren Ontario XD
I live in a smaller town in the middle of food land Ontario. :3 I'm more or less a country girl and I love it.

London in Canada? I first thought of the UK one because I was born in the UK. Went to that London a few times and remember it as being dirty, wet and cold.
I was a country girl in the UK for the last 4 years before I moved to Australia. It was amazingly beautiful. I wouldn't do it here though because the countryside is not green and lush unless you go down south where it's also cold.

Yep London Ontario :3 Not the one in England XD Its a little to far for me to drive to and then there is the problem with the ocean in the way lol. I've never been anywhere >_< I've been stuck in southren Ontario all my life, I've been to Quebec city once for a school trip but they didn't let us do anything fun.
:3 I personly don't care what the countryside looks like, I don't like living with a lot of people >_<.

I loved field hockey when I was in school. Couldn't stand netball - all that freezing to the spot once you get the ball drove me up the wall. I love running - well, jogging. At 55 years and quite overweight I'm not good at it but I love it.

I'm good a field and road hockey and I've been told many times that I'd be good at ice hockey if I could skate XD
I use to play netball in school too. At my school we had to wear goggles that were all scratched up and old and I could never see out of them >_<
I love running once Im in shape lol XD when I'm trying to get in shape for games its not too fun.
I think jogging is one of those things that you don't have to be good at it, you just have to injoy doing it :3

I had a lot of stress because of school, some things to do with family and my so called "friend" is going around telling people I'm a boyfriend stealer, and her boyfriend is my best friend and like family to me so I don't even see him as a boy.

Oh I'm dangerously close to 80 kgs again. I spent many years at 98 kgs. I like to be 72 and will have to claw my way down there again. Such is life!
I hope your 'friend' wakes up to herself. That's a real shame

I'm not far behind you, I'm around 74 kgs (or at lest the last time I weighed myself)but I'm always changing, I'm a little smaller now because of gym class but during rugby I get smaller but I end up gaining weight XD

Oh that's so reassuring, I was feeling rather alone tee hee!
When I think I was so fit - decent aerobic exercise of some description every day plus pushups and squats and whatever Jillian Michaels could throw at me from her videos - weighing 72 kgs with muscle. And now I'm 78 kgs of flab in such a short time. Oh well, I got there once, starting from 98 kgs, so I can do it again from 78. Muscle and fat proportions matter more than what the scale says huh?
One more physio appointment on Thursday and then he should clear me to start jogging again. Or I'll punch him on the nose ROFL

Oh gosh - hadn't thought of that. Jogging in high snow would involve lots of high knee lifting LOL
Do you have a treadmill? We've got one each because David bought me a gorgeous new one about 9 months ago so he got my old one. To put the old one on incline you have to get off and put matching phonebooks under each front 'leg' ROFL

I really short with even shorter legs so high knees for most people are leaps for me XD
No I don't have a treamill. My house is so small I can hardly walk
XD it must be nice to have the new one then seeing as you'd need a lot of phonebooks over the years

LOL I feel your pain. David used to walk beside me as I jogged along - and he's not even tall.
We had a small house for 8 years but just moved into a bigger one and I love it. I'm really aware of *walking* across a room or to another room. So happy
