i was talking with a friend about the pictures of the scarred trees that i took a while back. She said to me, "Love doesn't scar.. that requires healing.. and true love never heals"it inspired me to make this

Love does not scar, it changes the course of your entire existance once you give in to it. Love is a powerful element that demands a lot from both sides. The slightest emotion can burst into something extremely dramatic because of the power of love. Your greatest ally and enemy is love. I adore this picture. Those cuts look fantastic, did you just paint them in photoshop? This would make another great card.

yes i painted the cuts in with the line shape tool
then used the laso to sharpen them off
and the burn tool around the edges
then a slight outer glow with overylay
some of those effects were taken away when i put the finishing watercolor filter on it, but i know it's there

True love doesn't heal,or yield.Or even cease to exist.It is brain damage,scar tissue,and uncureable virulence that ale's until the end of existence.For some,far beyond.I think sometimes I might choose death,or non-existence over true love.At least there is finality and closure.So that there may be a new beginning.It's a great picture Touchy,with nice shades of red.It does indeed catch the eye.

it brought out different feelings for me,somehow conflicting yet contradicting,I see the cuts,that equals pain,yet love is supposedly positive feeling...hard to explain.I liked it but can't understand this feeling it drew out of me

when she said it to me it struck a chord in me as well..
i guess in my mind what it means is something that i've often thought about.. when you truly love someone, even if the relationship doesn't last the love is still there, it still xists/xisted, whether we still want it to or not.. i was a bit harsh about it in this depiction, but i wanted to show that the "wounds" from a love like i'm describing, never truly close and heal
