I don't know much about Puppetmon, but I guarantee Ultron curb stomps him.

The strings thing is from the garbage AoU movie Ultron.
What's Puppetmon's deal, what can he do?

AoU was awesome. Except for the phoned in scene with Thor learning about the stones. That was just the result of studio heads clashing with the director.

Puppetmon is mega level (though not an especially powerful one). His hammer couldn't be cut by Wargreymon's claws, which could one-shot Machinedramon. His nose functions as a drill and the cross on his back can be used as a boomerang. He is not a good with direct confrontation, despite his standing, so he prefers to use cheap tricks to wear down enemies. He can also take control of his opponent with strings, Doflamingo style. He may be allowed to digivolve into his burst mode, AncientTroimon, which is outfitted with a few dozen cannons. Not saying he will win, but there is something.

As a huge comic freak Age of Ultron was handled poorly. Not only was Ultron nothing like the original but the movie had absolutely nothing to do with the original Age of Ultron comic. The Ultron from the Next Avengers animated movie or the one from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was far more faithful.

That's all he can do? Even Ultron-6 would own that thing, nevermind what Ultron-19 or Final Form Ultron can do to him.

Well they did have good reason for Ultron acting different. Since Pym wasn't introduced to the MCU yet, they had him based off of Tony instead. An egotistical, eccentric, man child taken to the worst possible point. His end goal of kill all humans was pretty intact. His big evil plan wasn't too shabby and he still came off as threatening (I just find more childish or wacky villains like Buu to be scarier). It made sense for that universe. I can see why some people wouldn't like it though.

Live-action Ultron gets owned by Puppetmon. No reason why, I just don't like this incarnation of the character. And that's saying A LOT, considering Ultron is one of my all time favourite comic book villains, even above Thanos.
